INFORMATION PACK
The NSW Council of the Australian Power Boat Association would like to invite you to
compete at the 2013 Combined Australian Powerboat Championships on Lake Wyangan
at Griffith NSW on Friday 4 th , Saturday 5 th and Sunday 6 th October 2013.
This will be the first time in over 20 years that the Combined Australian Championships
have been held at Griffith. Lake Wyangan is no stranger to having the cream of Australian
powerboat racing on its waters. The Combined Australian Championships were held at
Griffith several times in the 1970’s and 1980’s, as well as the now defunct Christmas/New
Year race meetings.
Griffith is located in the Riverina Region of New South Wales, in the heart of the vast
Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). Considered to be centrally located to most major
cities, this positions Griffith as an ideal central location for visitors from Victoria, New
South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia travelling by road via the Hume
Highway, the Burley Griffin Way, the Newell Highway and the Kidman Way.
Sydney: 573km
Melbourne: 463km
Adelaide: 803km
Canberra: 358km
Brisbane: 1272km
Wagga Wagga: 183km
This is a golden opportunity to conduct all the Australian titles at a time of year when it
does not clash with other major meetings.
