The <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> generated $83,125 in interest<br />
on investments this year. $38,919 was generated<br />
through the sale of the District’s obsolete computers<br />
and condemned equipment.<br />
Hotel Care Week in September raised $9,560.19<br />
This donation and a $3,000 gift from Energex helped<br />
purchase a $15,000 bladder scanner for Nambour<br />
Hospital’s aged care facility, Hibiscus House.<br />
The annual OOO Ball again supported the <strong>Health</strong><br />
<strong>Foundation</strong> in September raising $3,927 for a $15,000<br />
portable CTG monitor for antenatal outreach clinics.<br />
Also contributing to this equipment was proceeds of<br />
the Buderim Aquatic Centre Charity Swim in October<br />
which raised $5,948.<br />
Zinc and Hot FM’s Christmas Appeal raised<br />
$10,908.15 for a $27,000 playground at Reed Charity<br />
House along with a $2,500 donation from Active Living,<br />
Brendan Brial, BOQ Mooloolaba and Lawrie<br />
Clarke, BOQ Maroochydore present Sharon,<br />
Andrew and the kids from SCKOPING with<br />
proceeds of the BOQ Mooloolaba and<br />

Grants received include $20,000 from the Honda<br />
<strong>Foundation</strong> (through Daddows Honda Cooroy) that<br />
helped purchase a $33,433 camera, monitor and printer<br />
for a colposcope in the gynaecological unit at Nambour<br />
Hospital.<br />
A $40,000 grant was provided by the <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong><br />
Regional Council to help fund a ramp providing secure<br />
access to Reed Charity House.<br />
General Fundraising<br />
$3,790 proceeds from the Heritage calendar and<br />
donations from United Way and Myer.<br />
The BOQ Mooloolaba and Maroochydore<br />
Celebrity Golf Challenge in November saw $31,162<br />
raised for Sckoping Camps. Proceeds will ensure these<br />
annual camps are held for the next three years for<br />
children living in a family enduring mental illness.<br />
The <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> provides administrative support<br />
(the account activity for these is reflected in Staff<br />
Fundraising) for a range of workshops and conferences<br />
including the Nurse Leaders Conference in October<br />
($12,750), Inspiring Leaders Workshop in November,<br />
Toxinology Conference in November ($38,220) and a<br />
number of Nursing Midwifery Leadership and Neonatal<br />
Resuscitation programmes throughout the year.<br />
