and/or pr<strong>of</strong>essional placement until <strong>the</strong> conclusion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong><br />

procedures.<br />

2.2.2 The student will be required <strong>to</strong> submit a written statement based upon <strong>the</strong> issues<br />

raised at <strong>the</strong> Investigative Interview. This statement must be received by <strong>the</strong> Secretary<br />

no later than 7 working days prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> meeting date in order that it may be included<br />

in <strong>the</strong> documentation <strong>for</strong> consideration by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel in advance.<br />

2.2.3 The student may invite witnesses <strong>to</strong> present verbal evidence at <strong>the</strong> meeting. The<br />

names and addresses <strong>of</strong> any such witnesses shall be made available <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel no later than 7 working days be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> meeting.<br />

2.2.4 The Head <strong>of</strong> Department and/or members <strong>of</strong> staff connected with <strong>the</strong> case must<br />

provide a written report, including any written witness statements, in support <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

allegations made explaining why <strong>the</strong>re is concern as <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> student’s fitness <strong>to</strong><br />

practise. All <strong>the</strong> evidence submitted <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel<br />

will be included in <strong>the</strong> papers presented at <strong>the</strong> meeting.<br />

2.2.5 The Head <strong>of</strong> Department who carried out <strong>the</strong> internal investigation will be<br />

required <strong>to</strong> present <strong>the</strong> case against <strong>the</strong> student. They may nominate a member <strong>of</strong><br />

academic or senior staff <strong>to</strong> present <strong>the</strong> case in <strong>the</strong>ir absence.<br />

2.2.6 The <strong>School</strong> may invite witnesses <strong>to</strong> present verbal evidence at <strong>the</strong> meeting. The<br />

names and addresses <strong>of</strong> any such witnesses shall be made available <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel no later than 7 working days be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> meeting.<br />

2.2.7 Factual in<strong>for</strong>mation about <strong>the</strong> student’s pr<strong>of</strong>essional progress on <strong>the</strong> course and<br />

any o<strong>the</strong>r relevant documentation may also be requested. Additional in<strong>for</strong>mation from<br />

parallel University processes (such as Complaints or Disciplinary procedures) will be<br />

considered by <strong>the</strong> Panel where appropriate.<br />

2.2.8 The University will not impose any additional penalties <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> same <strong>of</strong>fence<br />

under more than one set <strong>of</strong> Regulations.<br />

2.2.9 The Secretary will provide <strong>the</strong> student with a copy <strong>of</strong> all documentation <strong>to</strong> be<br />

considered by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel no later than 5 working days prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

meeting.<br />

2.2.10 All in<strong>for</strong>mation submitted in relation <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> panel meeting<br />

will be dealt with confidentially and will only be disclosed <strong>to</strong> those parties involved in<br />

<strong>the</strong> investigation and judgement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> complaint, or as necessary <strong>to</strong> progress <strong>the</strong><br />

complaint, or as required by law.<br />

2.3 Procedure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> Panel Meeting<br />

2.3.1 The <strong>Fitness</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Practise</strong> Panel meeting is a closed meeting and will be held in<br />

private.<br />

2.3.2 The student will be required <strong>to</strong> attend <strong>the</strong> meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Panel in person. If <strong>the</strong><br />
