6.9.2.5. Within 12 months <strong>of</strong> receiving the initial fatality review reports, and<br />

annually thereafter, the DUSD (MC&FP) shall conduct a DoD fatality review summit to respond<br />

to the findings and recommendations from the Military fatality review teams.<br />

7. TRAINING<br />

In addition to providing education and training to key personnel on the policies and procedures<br />

in this <strong>Instruction</strong>, the Secretaries <strong>of</strong> the Military <strong>Department</strong>s shall provide periodic, mandatory<br />

training on the topics provided in paragraphs 7.1 through 7.5 to all military personnel. To the<br />

extent possible, education and awareness activities should also target family members. The<br />

Military <strong>Department</strong>s will determine the appropriate staff to deliver this training and the venue.<br />

7.1. Dynamics <strong>of</strong> domestic abuse.<br />

7.2. DoD policy and Military Service-specific domestic abuse policies and procedures.<br />

7.3. Common misconceptions associated with domestic abuse.<br />

7.4. Beliefs, attitudes and cultural issues associated with domestic abuse.<br />

7.5. Military and civilian domestic abuse resources.<br />

8. INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS<br />

8.1. The annual report to the USD(P&R) <strong>of</strong> domestic violence and child abuse fatality<br />

reviews referred to in paragraph 6.9.2. has been assigned Report Control Symbol (RCS) DD-<br />

P&R(A)2175.<br />

8.2. The reports to the DUSD(MC&FP) <strong>of</strong> DoD-related fatalities due to domestic violence or<br />

child abuse referred to in paragraph 6.9.1. have been assigned RCS DD-P&R(Q)2052.<br />

8.3. Reporting instructions and data elements for the “DoD Domestic Violence Database”<br />

referred to in paragraph 5.1.3. are contained in DoD 7730.47-M (Reference (x)). The<br />

information requirements for such data has been assigned RCS DD-P&R(M)1973 under DoD<br />

Directive 7730.47 (Reference (w)).<br />

8.4. These reporting requirements have been assigned according to DoD 8910.1-M<br />

(Reference (ak)).<br />

8.5. The Safety Plan referred to in this <strong>Instruction</strong> is exempt from licensing according to<br />

paragraph C4.4.2 <strong>of</strong> Reference (ak).<br />
