His focus is on helping AE professionals increase their personal mastery for application in life, leadership, and overall high-performance. Geordie Aitken is a faculty member of ACEC’s prestigious Senior Executives Institute, teaching SEI’s Leadership & Personal Mastery session since 2003. Geordie works with AE firms throughout North America, assisting them to more effectively develop leaders, navigate leadership succession, and build effective development programs. Geordie is well-versed in the challenges of leadership development and succession, having worked with his father David Aitken for over a decade in their family-based consultancy. Geordie specializes in assisting AE firms tie leadership development to business strategy. In 2012 he co-authored The Leadership Succession Lifecycle in Best Practice Firms (available from the ACEC Bookstore). He speaks widely at ACEC, AIA, and other professional conferences. As a coach, Geordie works with professionals seeking to unlock better results, and a better experience of life and work. Geordie has an honors degree in English from the University of British Columbia, and is a certified practitioner of Neuro- Linguistic Programming. He holds a black belt in Shotokan karate and lives in Vancouver, BC with his wife, Magda.

David, a shareholder of the firm and a graduate of Eastern Washington University, focuses his practice on financial statement reporting and general business consulting for privately-owned commercial businesses. Karen, a senior manager and graduate of Western Washington University, has extensive experience in public accounting and private industry accounting. Both David and Karen serve a client base that includes a growing number of engineering and consulting firms.
