Ready to have some fun? Get a team!
It can be friends, family, coworkers,
anyone, and compete in the Library’s
Scavenger Hunt. Prizes include a
$100 Visa gift card, baseball tickets to
minor league games, gift certificates
and others. All teams that complete
the Hunt will get a goodie bag.
Adults and kids can register beginning
July 2 nd at 10AM at the Adult
Information Desk. You will receive a
list of items to gather, as well as the
rules of the game. This is a 4-
week Scavenger Hunt, so you can register
anytime between July 2-July 25.
The Hunt ends July 27 th at 3PM.
On Saturday, July 28 th , from 1-3PM,
everyone is invited to the Library’s
HUGE Outdoor Summer Celebration,
where we will announce the winner.
There will be food, live music and
activities for adults and kids. You will
definitely want to bring the entire family!!

NY State Summer Reading Program, 2007
Children who are residents of the Ramapo
Central School District may register for Summer
Reading between June 18 and July 31.
You must come in to register and pick up your summer
reading bag which is filled with goodies and
supplies. After registering, come to the children’s
reference desk once a week (starting Monday, July
2—Monday, August 6) and pick up stickers for each
book you have read or had read to you, as well as
prizes. Children 2 years-old to those entering 6 th

REACH for the Music—Family Concert

This wonderful family event will inspire everyone to
sing along while renowned musicians, Kurt
Gallagher, Maria Calfa-DePaul, Sam Leopold and
Brian Muni, with percussionist Steve Deats, entertain
us in a Song Writers Circle! Co-sponsored by the REACH
Foundation and the Suffern Free Library.
Classical & Folk: Middle Eastern Music
Sunday, June 3 rd , 1:30PM
Join us for the last concert in our Classical & Folk
series. This performance features Yoni Levyatov on
piano and The Noga Group. Doors open at 1PM. The
concert is made possible by the Suffern Free Library and funds from the
Community Arts Grants Program of the Arts Council of Rockland and the
Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts.
Suffern High School Jazz Ensemble

“New York State Partnership” programs for long term
care, as well as the “Deficit Reduction Act” recently
signed into law. This law radically changes Medicaid
eligibility requirements regarding long term care.

Frank D’Andrea, a professional dog trainer, will

The highlight of my day is helping people do
research. Today I helped a woman investigate
corporations. She came in to look at our wonderful
reference books and then I walked her
over to a computer and showed her our
databases. She was ecstatic when she
found out what is available. Reference
USA and Gale Business and Company
Resource Center gave her everything
she needed. She emailed the
information to herself so she could work with the
information she retrieved at her leisure. Suffern Free
Library patrons can do this research in the library or
from home using their library card. Every day someone
else learns about the magnificent databases which
Suffern Free Library subscribes to and makes available
for our residents.
The Information Age is here and how we do
research is changing rapidly. If you find it
Teen Scene
YNK Teen Summer Program
Teens, mystified about what to do this summer?
You never know what will transpire if you join our
annual summer program, open to teens who are
residents of the Ramapo Central
School District and entering grades 7-
12.
Investigate the many activities that
await you to earn points toward a
certificate, prizes, a party, entertainment
and surprises by volunteering, reading, decorating,
crafting, presenting a mysterious afternoon
for kids, etc.
Applications will be available beginning Tuesday,
June 5. Teens must register in person. Space is
limited. Program runs June 27- August 8. An Investigative
Orientation Party will be held June 27 at 3
p.m. for registered teens.
