Refined Oils<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> built its first <strong>Australia</strong>n vegetable oil<br />

refinery in Newcastle, NSW, in June 2007. The<br />

refinery refines, bleaches and deodorises<br />

(RBD) canola oil, sunflower oil<br />

(polyunsaturated and high oleic), soybean oil<br />

and cottonseed oil as well as imported palm<br />

olein and palm stearine. <strong>Cargill</strong> distributes its<br />

high quality oils and shortenings throughout<br />

QLD, New South Wales, Victoria and South<br />

<strong>Australia</strong> to some of <strong>Australia</strong>'s premier food<br />

companies.<br />

In 2010 a packaging facility was<br />

commissioned at Newcastle allowing <strong>Cargill</strong><br />

to produce packaged fats and oils for a range<br />

of customers.<br />

The <strong>Cargill</strong> refinery in Newcastle is fully integrated<br />

with the existing multi-seed crush facility.<br />

The integrated crush and refinery is<br />

conveniently located on the port and therefore<br />

meets AQIS requirements for processing imported<br />

oilseeds<br />

Food Ingredients<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> Food Ingredients & Solutions was established<br />

in <strong>Australia</strong> 2007 to market a range<br />

of sweeteners, starches, texturisers and<br />

health and nutritional products. With a local<br />

customer service desk, distributors and warehouses<br />

throughout <strong>Australia</strong> and New Zealand<br />

they are able to bring customers the full range<br />

of <strong>Cargill</strong> ingredients from all regions of the<br />

globe.<br />

Risk Management<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> Risk Management (CRM) is a provider<br />

of innovative price risk management solutions<br />

for producers and consumers of commodities.<br />

The CRM team delivers ‘over the counter’<br />

products to protect customer price exposures<br />

across a range of agricultural, soft and energy<br />

markets. <strong>Cargill</strong> Risk Management’s ‘tool box’<br />

of products encompasses a range of options<br />

which are tailor-made to meet the needs of<br />

our clients<br />

Cotton<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> established a direct cotton marketing<br />

business in <strong>Australia</strong> in 2000 when Ralli<br />

Brothers and Coney, a <strong>Cargill</strong> subsidiary,<br />

opened an office in Brisbane. Since that time<br />

the business has established a strong<br />

presence in the <strong>Australia</strong> market by servicing<br />

cotton growers with marketing tools through<br />

its network of regional representatives in<br />

Queensland and New South Wales.<br />

International cotton processors are serviced<br />

with <strong>Australia</strong>n Cotton through the company’s<br />

extensive network of marketing offices around<br />

the world. In 2002 the business began trading<br />

globally as <strong>Cargill</strong> Cotton<br />

Toshoku/<strong>Cargill</strong> Japan<br />

Toshoku Ltd merged with <strong>Cargill</strong> Japan Ltd<br />

on June 1, 2007 and in <strong>Australia</strong>, the<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> Toshoku business unit is responsible<br />

for procuring food and feed items primarily for<br />

the Japanese and South East Asian markets. It<br />

is involved in sourcing grain, beef, dairy, food<br />

ingredients, oils and processed foods.<br />

Teys <strong>Australia</strong><br />

Formed in September 2011, Teys <strong>Australia</strong> is a<br />

50 – 50 joint venture merging the Teys Bros<br />

and <strong>Cargill</strong> Beef <strong>Australia</strong> beef processing and<br />

cattle feeding businesses.<br />

Teys <strong>Australia</strong> operates a group of assets which<br />

are strategically located across the eastern<br />

seaboard of <strong>Australia</strong>. The joint venture<br />

combines all the beef processing and cattle<br />

feeding operations previously run by Teys and<br />

<strong>Cargill</strong> Beef <strong>Australia</strong>, as well as Teys’ tannery<br />

and value added facilities, and Teys’ share of its<br />

wholesale divisions.<br />

Our Joint ventures<br />

Allied Mills<br />

In 2002 <strong>Cargill</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> <strong>Limited</strong> established a<br />

joint venture with GrainCorp Operations <strong>Limited</strong><br />

to purchase Goodman Fielder’s flour milling<br />

business, which now trades as Allied Mills<br />

<strong>Australia</strong> Pty Ltd. Allied Mills has a national<br />

network of flour mills operating in Queensland,<br />

New South Wales, Victoria, South <strong>Australia</strong> and<br />

Western <strong>Australia</strong> and mills close to 700,000<br />

tonnes of wheat annually.<br />

Allied Mill’s services both domestic and export<br />

markets with bread and speciality flours, bread<br />

mixes and an extensive range of cake, scone<br />

and other premixes.<br />
