Refined Oils
Cargill built its first Australian vegetable oil
refinery in Newcastle, NSW, in June 2007. The
refinery refines, bleaches and deodorises
(RBD) canola oil, sunflower oil
(polyunsaturated and high oleic), soybean oil
and cottonseed oil as well as imported palm
olein and palm stearine. Cargill distributes its
high quality oils and shortenings throughout
QLD, New South Wales, Victoria and South
Australia to some of Australia's premier food
companies.
In 2010 a packaging facility was
commissioned at Newcastle allowing Cargill
to produce packaged fats and oils for a range
of customers.
The Cargill refinery in Newcastle is fully integrated
with the existing multi-seed crush facility.
The integrated crush and refinery is
conveniently located on the port and therefore
meets AQIS requirements for processing imported
oilseeds
Food Ingredients
Cargill Food Ingredients & Solutions was established
in Australia 2007 to market a range
of sweeteners, starches, texturisers and
health and nutritional products. With a local
customer service desk, distributors and warehouses
throughout Australia and New Zealand
they are able to bring customers the full range
of Cargill ingredients from all regions of the
globe.
Risk Management
Cargill Risk Management (CRM) is a provider
of innovative price risk management solutions
for producers and consumers of commodities.
The CRM team delivers ‘over the counter’
products to protect customer price exposures
across a range of agricultural, soft and energy
markets. Cargill Risk Management’s ‘tool box’
of products encompasses a range of options
which are tailor-made to meet the needs of
our clients
Cotton
Cargill established a direct cotton marketing
business in Australia in 2000 when Ralli
Brothers and Coney, a Cargill subsidiary,
opened an office in Brisbane. Since that time
the business has established a strong
presence in the Australia market by servicing
cotton growers with marketing tools through
its network of regional representatives in
Queensland and New South Wales.
International cotton processors are serviced
with Australian Cotton through the company’s
extensive network of marketing offices around
the world. In 2002 the business began trading
globally as Cargill Cotton
Toshoku/Cargill Japan
Toshoku Ltd merged with Cargill Japan Ltd
on June 1, 2007 and in Australia, the
Cargill Toshoku business unit is responsible
for procuring food and feed items primarily for
the Japanese and South East Asian markets. It
is involved in sourcing grain, beef, dairy, food
ingredients, oils and processed foods.
Teys Australia
Formed in September 2011, Teys Australia is a
50 – 50 joint venture merging the Teys Bros
and Cargill Beef Australia beef processing and
cattle feeding businesses.
Teys Australia operates a group of assets which
are strategically located across the eastern
seaboard of Australia. The joint venture
combines all the beef processing and cattle
feeding operations previously run by Teys and
Cargill Beef Australia, as well as Teys’ tannery
and value added facilities, and Teys’ share of its
wholesale divisions.

Allied Mills
In 2002 Cargill Australia Limited established a
joint venture with GrainCorp Operations Limited
to purchase Goodman Fielder’s flour milling
business, which now trades as Allied Mills
Australia Pty Ltd. Allied Mills has a national
network of flour mills operating in Queensland,
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and
Western Australia and mills close to 700,000
tonnes of wheat annually.
Allied Mill’s services both domestic and export
markets with bread and speciality flours, bread
mixes and an extensive range of cake, scone
and other premixes.
