The completed form MUST be returned to your advisor by________________________. If no elective courses are
selected, students will be automatically enrolled in elective courses based on availability.
All students must fill 7 periods with course selections totaling 7 credits. The requests for the required courses such as
English, math, science, social studies, world language, physical education and health will be completed for you based on
course sequence and teacher recommendation. Students currently enrolled in a CTE program will automatically be
advanced to the next sequential course.
In addition to the core academic subjects and the CTE programs listed above, students will need to select elective
courses in order to fill their schedule and meet the total credit requirement for graduation. In order to do so, it is
important to review course descriptions and prerequisites for courses in the Program of Studies provided to you and
also available on the school website under scheduling information. When making your selections, please keep in mind
the courses you have already taken and your post-secondary goals. Please refer to the following list to determine the
counselor will confirm the course was recommended for you by a teacher. Please remember, these are course
requests ONLY. Oversubscription, undersubscription, or scheduling conflicts may necessitate course changes. In
the event this occurs, students will be placed in courses based on course availability. If a literacy course or a double
math class is required based on assessment results, elective selections will be adjusted accordingly.
During the next few weeks, counselors will meet with all students to discuss elective choices, graduation requirements,
and initial academic course requests to ensure graduation requirements will be met. Complete schedule request lists will
be sent home in April for parent review and signature. Counselors will address any parent concerns regarding the 2013
