Communications<br />

Once individuals are enrolled in an AARP <strong>Medicare</strong><br />

<strong>Supplement</strong> Insurance Plan, they will receive various<br />

communications throughout the year. Our goal is<br />

to enhance the members’ experience by providing<br />

meaningful and timely in<strong>for</strong>mation. Here’s an overview of<br />

the types of communications delivered:<br />

• Welcome Materials — Contain the Certificate of<br />

Insurance, Insurance ID Card, 30-day cancellation<br />

policy and other helpful in<strong>for</strong>mation about topics such<br />

as services, claims and payments. For those who do<br />

not sign up <strong>for</strong> automatic bank withdrawals at the time<br />

of application, an Automatic Payment <strong>for</strong>m will be<br />

included in the Welcome Kit <strong>for</strong> those who wish to sign<br />

up <strong>for</strong> Automatic Payments at a later date.<br />

• Newsletter — A quarterly publication covering topics<br />

such as healthy lifestyles and product in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• Annual Rate Notification — In<strong>for</strong>ms insured<br />

members of their new rates <strong>for</strong> the coming year.<br />

Generally, the annual rate notification is sent out in<br />

the fall.<br />

• Plan Review Kit — A handy reference piece with<br />

product/plan specific in<strong>for</strong>mation sent to insured<br />

members annually in the 4th quarter. Other<br />

communications may be sent, such as legally required<br />

mailings, product changes and other retention-driven<br />

mailings.<br />

where they can obtain payment and billing in<strong>for</strong>mation;<br />

claim in<strong>for</strong>mation, like claim status and claim filing<br />

instructions; order replacement items, such as payment<br />

and claim envelopes; Automatic Payment enrollment<br />

<strong>for</strong>ms; and insurance ID cards. Representatives are<br />

available weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and<br />

Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.<br />
