RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />
1. The judges’ decision is final.<br />
2. Riding hats MUST be worn at all times when mounted and comply with Rule 101/3 and 101/4.<br />
3. Telephone entries or entries received without the appropriate fee WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.<br />
4. The Organisers will not accept any legal liability for accidents, loss, damage, injury or illness to<br />
horses, owners, grooms, riders, spectators or any property owned by them.<br />
5. In accordance with Rule 82.20 no member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as<br />
owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any<br />
Showjumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the<br />
public are not at risk of injury. Also refer to rule 102.12<br />
6. British Showjumping Stewards, Judges, Development Officers and Show Organisers have the<br />
jurisdiction to disqualify any stallion from a show, if, in their opinion, it is behaving in such a way<br />
likely to cause accident and/ or injury to other horses/ponies, competitors, their associates or any<br />
member of the public. Should this occur the animal should be returned to its stable or horsebox<br />
immediately and may be asked to leave the show site. It is the responsibility of the owner and rider<br />
to ensure their stallion is properly restrained in that any stallion leaving its lorry of stables must<br />
wear a bridle at all times.<br />
7. The event will run strictly in accordance with British Showjumping Rules.<br />
8. Objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within 30 minutes of any incident together<br />
with a deposit of £100. The deposit will be repaid if the objection is sustained.<br />
9. Practice fences will be flagged and must be jumped in the correct direction.<br />
10. Where there are fewer than 4 starters in class, the show organisers may cancel the class. If there<br />
are more than 4 or more starters then the class will run. Also refer to Rule 76.14.<br />
11. Junior members competing on horses are only able to do so from the beginning of the calendar<br />
year in which the age of 12 is reached.<br />
12. All damage/loss to stables or equipment is competitor’s liability.<br />
13. Dogs are permitted on the showground, however they must be kept on a lead at all times and the<br />
dogs owner is responsible for any mess.<br />
14. Electric hook-up is available and must be booked in advance. Anyone found to be using hook up<br />
without displaying a valid hook up pass will be disconnected by any means and asked to leave the<br />
show ground without refund.<br />
Style & Performance<br />
Class 1 (c) is a special competition. For the purposes of determining the overall Champion, both rounds<br />
of this class will be judged on the presentation and jumping technique of the horse as well as accuracy.<br />
Points will be awarded by the judges in both rounds on:<br />
Presentation: The horse should maintain an even, well-balanced canter throughout the whole course. It<br />
should not be interrupted when approaching the fences, the rider being able to control each stride.<br />
The following will be observed:- an even speed, response to rider, flexibility.<br />
