• New Open Space Area in March 2012 a small area of open space at The Paddocks<br />
was transferred from Persimm<strong>on</strong> Homes to the <strong>Parish</strong> <strong>Council</strong>, who will now be<br />
resp<strong>on</strong>sible for its maintenance.<br />
• Maintenance The <strong>Parish</strong> <strong>Council</strong> maintains the following areas:<br />
• St. Laurence Churchyard;<br />
• Grange Road and Salford Road Cemeteries<br />
• Grass cutting of:<br />
- The Big Meadow<br />
- Fields to the rear of Dugdale Avenue<br />
- Hill View Road<br />
- Millers Bank, Broom<br />
• All the play areas :<br />
- Jubilee Close<br />
- Kings Lane, Broom<br />
- Marleigh Park<br />
- The Leys<br />
- Youth Shelter site to the rear of the fire stati<strong>on</strong><br />
• Flower boxes<br />
• Weekly visual inspecti<strong>on</strong> of all the play equipment<br />
• M<strong>on</strong>thly inspecti<strong>on</strong> and maintenance of 176 street lights<br />
• Amenities<br />
• Fields in Trust - as part of the Diam<strong>on</strong>d Jubilee Year Events Dugdale Avenue Sports<br />
Fields have been nominated a Queen Elizabeth II Field and “has been protected forever<br />
for your community, to celebrate the Diam<strong>on</strong>d Jubilee by <str<strong>on</strong>g>Bidford</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> Av<strong>on</strong> <strong>Parish</strong> <strong>Council</strong><br />
in partnership with Fields in Trust and ASDA”<br />
• <str<strong>on</strong>g>Bidford</str<strong>on</strong>g> Sports Pavili<strong>on</strong> - the <strong>Parish</strong> <strong>Council</strong> was successful in obtaining a £50,000<br />
award from Sport England for the refurbishment of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Bidford</str<strong>on</strong>g> Sports Pavili<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> the<br />
Big Meadow as a sporting legacy to the local community in this Olympic Year.<br />
• <str<strong>on</strong>g>Bidford</str<strong>on</strong>g> Rural Cinema - this is a partnership between The Crawford Memorial Hall and<br />
the <strong>Parish</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and its aim is to offer entertainment to the local community at an<br />
affordable price. Tickets remain at £2.50<br />
Films are screened at 7.00 pm <strong>on</strong> the first and fourth Fridays of the m<strong>on</strong>th, except<br />
August. The aim is to cater for all ages and tastes!<br />
Films are well advertised in advance and posters are placed <strong>on</strong>:<br />

• Local shops, Post Office and St. Laurence Church rooms<br />

Refreshments, which are available before the film and during the interval, are sp<strong>on</strong>sored<br />
by Warner’s Budgens and are very reas<strong>on</strong>ably priced<br />
