12 Mt/y Phu Kham copper<br />
concentrator, located<br />
approximately 100 km<br />
north-east of the Laos<br />
capital, Vientiane.<br />
We undertook engineering,<br />
procurement and construction<br />
management, and developed<br />
process facilities for<br />
the project.<br />
Project highlights included:<br />
• more than three million<br />
man-hours worked without<br />
a lost-time incident<br />
• project completed on<br />
schedule and on budget<br />
• successful execution of<br />
logistics and freight tasks<br />
throughout monsoonal<br />

Lumwana is the largest copper<br />

20 Mt/y copper concentrator,<br />

on-site and off-site<br />
infrastructure, water and<br />
waste-management systems,<br />
dams, diversion channels,<br />
and associated facilities.<br />
Project highlights included:<br />
• the work was completed<br />
on a lump sum EPC basis<br />
• largest single financing<br />
project in Zambian history<br />
• logistics and freight<br />
executed without delay and<br />
procurement networks<br />
successfully established<br />
in South Africa<br />
• peak construction<br />
workforce of 2,300, with<br />
90% local Zambian labour.<br />

The 76,000 t/d Constancia<br />
Copper Project is located in<br />
the Andes at approximately<br />
4,000 m elevation, south<br />
of Cusco and north-east<br />
of Arequipa.<br />
The $1.5 billion project is<br />
currently under construction.<br />
<strong>Ausenco</strong> is providing EPCM<br />
services for the concentrator<br />
including processes for both<br />
copper and molybdenum<br />
concentrate production.<br />
The plant represents a costeffective<br />
solution to South<br />
American concentrator design.<br />
