Scott Hahn to be in Oklahoma City. Dr. Hahn is a<br />

Professor of Theology and Scripture at Franciscan<br />

University of <strong>St</strong>eubenville. He is a popular speaker and<br />

has written numerous books and articles related to the<br />

<strong>Catholic</strong> faith. An ordained Presbyterian minister, he<br />

entered the <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Church</strong> at the Easter Vigil in 1986.<br />

His scheduled talks will be: The Lamb’s Supper, First<br />

Comes Love, and Lord Have Mercy. Mr. Hahn will be<br />

speaking on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Bishop<br />

McGuiness High School Auditorium. The conference is<br />

free, but registration is required. Box lunches will be<br />

available for $6, but a reservation is needed as well. Call<br />

your seat/lunch.<br />

FAITH FORMATION:<br />

There will be a parent meeting of all parents<br />

with youth in the Sunday Faith Formation sessions this<br />

coming Sunday, January 13 th at 9:20 A.M. in the parish<br />

hall. You are welcome to come earlier and observe the<br />

children's music activity at 9:00 A.M. The meeting's<br />

purpose is to explain the safe environment curriculum<br />

used at each grade level. These lessons will be<br />

presented starting the week of January 27 th . Please<br />

make every effort to attend.<br />

Confirmation classes resume this<br />

Wednesday, January 9 th at 7:00 P.M. <strong>St</strong>udents are to<br />

be commended on arriving five to ten minutes early.<br />

This meeting is open to all women of <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Mary</strong>. Bring<br />

a friend or new parishioner and join us.<br />

committee for hosting the December meeting and all<br />

the beautiful decorations for our Christmas season.<br />

PAPAL PRAYER INTENTION FOR JANUARY<br />

General Intention: That the <strong>Church</strong> may, strengthen her<br />

commitment to full visible unity in order to manifest ever<br />

more clearly her nature as a community of love in which is<br />

reflected the communion of the Father, the Son, and the<br />

Holy Spirit.<br />

Mission Intention: That the <strong>Church</strong> in Africa, preparing to<br />

celebrate the second Special Assembly of the Synod of<br />

Bishops for Africa, may continue to be a sign and channel<br />

of reconciliation and justice in a continent still suffering<br />

from war, exploitation, and poverty.<br />

EPIPHANY: Today we remember the three wise men from<br />

the East who came to pay homage to the infant Jesus,<br />

bringing Him rich gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The<br />

gifts we bring – our time, service, and some share of what we<br />

earn for the work we do – are equally precious in His sight.<br />

paying for undergraduate or graduate school, The <strong>Catholic</strong><br />

Foundation may be able to assist with a $1,000 or $3,000<br />

scholarship that may be renewed for up to four years. These<br />

scholarships are awarded to qualified <strong>Catholic</strong> students. They<br />

also have other scholarships for OU Medical students, nursing<br />

students, Pastoral Musician students, or a <strong>St</strong>. Gregory student.<br />
