<strong>Dear</strong> <strong>Parents</strong><br />
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING E-COMMUNICATION<br />
For the past month or so we have been hard at work implementing our new electronic<br />
communication system. Overall it has gone quite smoothly, yet there are still some issues that we must<br />
address, and for this reason I would like to draw your attention to the following key points:<br />
School Communicator<br />
The growth of the school communicator is not yet up to standard with only 335 active installations. In<br />
a school with more than a <strong>12</strong>00 pupils, one cannot help but be concerned. This is our primary means<br />
of communication for everything from circulars to sport practices to homework (coming soon) to<br />
large scale events.<br />
We therefore encourage all parents to download and install the school communicator by either<br />
following the download link on our school website (www.settlers.org.za) or by visiting<br />
http://www.school-communicator.com/download.php<br />
The software is free of charge and can be installed on a regular home computer, a blackberry, android<br />
or even your iPhone.<br />
Regrettably we cannot deliver any technical support regarding the school communicator software. If<br />
you experience problems, please phone them on this number 0860 22 11 36 or e-mail them on<br />
support@school-communicator.com<br />
Reply Slips<br />
In most cases we do not require confirmation that you, as a parent, have received a circular. Should it<br />
happen that an electronic letter includes a reply slip at the bottom, it means that a hardcopy has been<br />
issued to the pupil at school and it has simply been sent as a backup.<br />
Please avoid replying to a circular via e-mail.
Changing Contact Details<br />
Since the start of our E-Communication process we have been inundated with changes to parents’<br />
contact details. We ask for your patience while we sort everything out.<br />
If you wish to update your contact details at the school, we ask that you make use of these three<br />
methods only:<br />
1. Phoning the front office on (021) 948-6116<br />
2. E-mailing Mr Nieuwoudt (NG@settlers.org.za)<br />
3. Via the “My Details” section on the school communicator<br />
Please remember to include your child’s name and grade when sending an e-mail.<br />
Unsubscribing From The Mailing List:<br />
At the bottom of all e-mails sent out there is a link to unsubscribe. Please do not use this method to<br />
unsubscribe from the mailing list as we periodically reload all contact details – thereby nullifying your<br />
changes.<br />
If you no longer wish to receive circulars via e-mail you will have to contact me directly by e-mailing<br />
me on NG@settlers.org.za.<br />
