High-Power Discretely Tunable DFB
Laser Modules for DWDM Testing
• High optical-power option of 20 mW
• Integrated wavelength locker for 25-GHz channel spacing or higher
• Built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and control electronics
This compact 10- and 20-mW transmission DFB
laser uses proprietary packaging technology to deliver
highly efficient, small form-factor modules that previously
were not possible.
Ideally suited for use in a wide variety of DWDM systems,
the TLB-3900 series lasers provide the best
combination of performance features available, offering
a unique combination of high optical powers, wide
tunability of 36 nm over the C band, and stability in
harsh environments. These modules include an integrated
wavelength locker, simple serial electrical interface,
and a uniquely stable and reliable design including a
built-in thermo-electric cooler for high stability.
High-powered performance, reliability, ease of manufacture,
and economies of scale derived from this
exclusive, proven design differentiate this product
from others in the industry.
10-Gbit/s 850-nm VCSEL
• 50-µm fiber connection
• Convenient and easy to use
• Ideal in fiber and breadboard systems for characterizing datacom transceivers
Designed for use in laboratory applications
or for test and measurement of 10-Gbit/s datacom
devices, the Model 1780 is an 850-nm,
10-Gbit/s, directly modulated, multimode
vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL).
The Model 1780 uses high-performance
microwave circuitry to ensure clean delivery
of the electrical input to the VCSEL chip,
and the VCSEL’s 50-µm output fiber enables
the use of either 50-µm or 62.5-µm fiber. The
AC-coupled input and internal bias circuitry
allows connection to any high-speed 60-Ω
SMA-compatible signal source without the need
for additional bias circuitry. A 10-position switch
allows for optimization of the VCSEL bias for
different datacom applications.
