Successful 2013 Railtex for <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong><br />
<strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> has experienced a successful Railtex 2013 with a busy stand throughout the three<br />
days of the UK’s premium rail industry show.<br />
The Exhibition which took place from 30 April 2013 to 2 May 2013 experienced a 19% increase<br />
in visitor numbers from 2011 with over 8,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitions attending the event<br />
from a total of 49 countries.<br />
There was significant interest in the new technology presented from around the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong><br />
Rail Group. This included the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> LEADER Driver Assistant System, currently being<br />
installed into the DMU fleets operating with Southern and London Midland and operated by Go-<br />
Ahead.<br />
The new <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> Z-300 Condition Based Maintenance system was given its world launch<br />
on the stand this year and the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> Group’s RAILSERVICES brand was re-launched<br />
with a fresh, new identity. RAILSERVICES provides flexible support, maintenance, service and<br />
original parts for all <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> systems as well as upgrades which enhance performance.<br />
The stand was visited by the The Right Honorable Simon Burns MP, Minister of State for<br />
Transport, who was given a tour by Member of the <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> Executive Board for Rail<br />
Vehicle Systems, Rolf Härdi and <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> UK Managing Director, Paul Goodhand who<br />
showed Mr Burns a number of innovative technology solutions from <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong>. These<br />
included the UK developed and manufactured EP1001 and EP2002 mechatronic brake control<br />
systems, a train simulator unit from Sydac and an obstacle detection system for train doors<br />
designed especially for easy retrofitting from IFE.<br />
Marketing and Communications Manager at <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong>, Nick Brailey commented, “The<br />
Railtex exhibition is an important showcase opportunity for <strong>Knorr</strong>-<strong>Bremse</strong> in the UK both for our<br />
local audience and for the many visitors who come from all over the world for this event. We had<br />
a great deal of interest in our new, innovative Group systems which are designed to offer high<br />
levels of safety, reliability and performance combined with lower life cycle costs.”<br />
