Every student had their names printed on arrows and posted up on the <strong>St</strong>udent Council window,<br />
<strong>20</strong>0 heart cookies were sold for this event, dating game a success<br />

A request for performers then even <strong>St</strong>udent Council will also perform<br />

TREASURER’S REPORT:<br />

‣ Last fiscal year’s <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> Council records (<strong>20</strong>11 / <strong>20</strong>12) have been given to the school as<br />
Finance Audit is scheduled on <strong>March</strong> 22, <strong>20</strong>13<br />
‣ <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> Council Financial Plan as <strong>of</strong> <strong>March</strong> 31, <strong>20</strong>13 is due to the Board on April 30, <strong>20</strong>13<br />
‣ SAF Allocation Balance is $6,548.05 from the $17,180 disbursed<br />
‣ <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> Council Admin Balance is $(90.72)<br />
‣ ProGrant Balance is $293.<strong>20</strong><br />
‣ Golf Balance remains unchanged at $1,226.98
ENGLISH DEPARTMENT’S PRESENTATION:<br />

‣ Alessandra Caschera touched on the subject <strong>of</strong> how social media and technology can prove to have a<br />
positive use in our classrooms:<br />
Twitter<br />
We are the first school to <strong>of</strong>fer this service which is very informative keeping the students<br />
connected with the school<br />
675 followers and 2,500 tweets with works out to 7 per day<br />
It is also a feed for all the announcements happening at our school this can be goggled<br />
Edmodo<br />
Program like Facebook which can be accessed by everyone<br />
Teachers can post notes regarding their class and if anything is expected by the students e.g.<br />
homework, assignments<br />
Reading Ahead Program<br />
Use the best <strong>of</strong> the web to improve reading and writing for students<br />
This was implemented in September <strong>20</strong>11 to the Grade 10 Applied students and great for<br />
OSSLT program has increased success rate<br />
No After-school programs for the learning strategies<br />
Room 210<br />
Has implemented 1 computer per student – fully equipped with printer, headphones and<br />
SmartBoard<br />
Math has 5 SmartBoards and English has 3 SmartBoards<br />
Cafeteria<br />
Has LCD projector which runs CP24 and it runs the twitter messages from the school on the<br />
board as well – also another Monitor that does the same located in the entrance way in front <strong>of</strong><br />
the Library – not all the teachers are fully using this too – slowly in more use<br />
5 Year Plan<br />
This years focus LCD with laptops, Guidance, Religion, Canada & World <strong>St</strong>udies laptops to<br />
be purchased with the allocated Council funding<br />
Next school year attendance computer to be put into each classroom so the kids can sign in<br />

special schedule – parents letter will forthcoming – graduation requirements must pass this test in<br />
order to graduate – we will continue to focus on applied learners<br />

embroidered free <strong>of</strong> charge between June and August <strong>20</strong>13<br />
