The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)<br />
has created a strict standard for the design,<br />
manufacture, and testing of work uniforms worn by<br />
firefighters and other emergency services personnel.<br />
The standard sets minimum requirements for thermally stable<br />
textiles that will not rapidly deteriorate, melt, shrink or adhere to<br />
the wearer’s skin.<br />
