Counseling Psychology Student Biography Form
Research and Applied Interests Statement:
My research interests are associated with the concept of athletic identity in
athletes and how athletic identity changes over time. I am also interested in what
pathology is associated with high levels of athletic identity. My applied interests
are related to sport psychology and mental skills training (team cohesion,
posturing, self-talk, and relaxation).
A great book I read in the past year:
The best book that I read in the past year and also the best book I have ever read
is Tuesdays with Morrie.
Favorite thing(s) to do in Auburn:
One of my favorite things to do in Auburn is to go to an Auburn football game.
The crowd and the traditions are great! Also, hanging out with my cohort and
people in the program, going out to dinner, or just going out on the town are
definitely some of my favorite things to do.
Favorite local eating establishment:
Favorite local eating restaurant has to be Amsterdam. Check out the blackened
chicken fettuccini Alfredo. Best I’ve ever had.
My most rewarding Auburn experience thus far:
I was told by a member of a team on campus that I work with that I was
extremely helpful for them and that they wanted me to come back for the rest of
the years that I am here to help them.

One surprising thing you might not know about me:
I was a five time national champion in gymnastics.
What I do to maintain a balanced life as a graduate student:
I like to run. As a good friend of mine once said “there is just something about
going forward.” I also like to be social and hang out with my friends and try my
best to not talk about school.
Advice for applicants & new students:
When you are making your decision about where to go to graduate school go
where you feel the most comfortable and go where you feel like you will have the
most support.
