<strong>Championship</strong> <strong>Show</strong> are sanctioned as BRONZE competition members <strong>of</strong> Equine Canada, 2685<br />
Queensview Drive, Suite 100, Ottawa, ON K2B 8K2 and are governed by the rules <strong>of</strong> EC. Every class<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered herein is covered by the rules and specifications <strong>of</strong> the current rules <strong>of</strong> EC and will be judged<br />
in accordance with the EC Rule Book.<br />
EQUINE CANADA STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE<br />
Equine Canada (EC), the national equestrian federation <strong>of</strong> Canada, supports adherence to humane treatment <strong>of</strong> horses in all<br />
competitions under its jurisdiction.<br />
EC is committed to<br />
Upholding the welfare <strong>of</strong> horses, regardless <strong>of</strong> value, as a primary consideration in all activities;<br />
Requiring that horses be treated with kindness, respect, and the compassion that they deserve, and that they never be<br />
subjected to mistreatment;<br />
Ensuring that owners, trainers and exhibitors or their agents use responsible care in the handling, treatment and<br />
transportation <strong>of</strong> their horses as well as horses placed in their care for any purpose;<br />
Providing for the continuous well-being <strong>of</strong> horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essionals and competition <strong>of</strong>ficials to achieve the highest possible standards <strong>of</strong> nutrition, health, comfort, sanitation<br />
and safety as a matter <strong>of</strong> standard operating procedure;<br />
Continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare;<br />
Increasing education in training and horsemanship practices;<br />
Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their sanctioning organization's rules, and to work within<br />
industry regulations in all equestrian competition;<br />
Reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare <strong>of</strong> horses.<br />
The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in<br />
generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane.

SHOW INFORMATION<br />
SHOW OFFICE For move-in, the <strong>of</strong>fice will be open Sunday, July<br />
15 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hours for remaining days will be posted<br />
at the <strong>of</strong>fice, but will be at least one half hour prior to the start <strong>of</strong><br />
classes, to the end <strong>of</strong> the last class each day.<br />
Exhibitors are<br />
requested to report to the show <strong>of</strong>fice as soon as possible after<br />
arrival, to pick up show packets, correct any pending items or make<br />
entries. It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the exhibitor to review and<br />
confirm their entry paperwork before leaving the show <strong>of</strong>fice,<br />
as any class changes made after that point will be considered<br />
post entries.<br />
LOCATION Western Fair District is located north <strong>of</strong> York Street,<br />
south <strong>of</strong> Dundas Street, and West <strong>of</strong> Highbury Avenue, in London<br />
Ontario. Highway 401 travelers can exit at Highbury Avenue, go<br />
North to Florence and turn left, one major block and turn left on<br />
Egerton Street and turn right into the Western Fair District facility.<br />
Travel across the back <strong>of</strong> the facility to the Agriplex.<br />
ENTRIES are to be received by June 22, 2012 for all horses<br />
qualified at this time. Entries that qualify for the first time between<br />
June 22 and July 2 may enter at regular class fees but MUST BE<br />
RECEIVED BY July 6 th . There will be a DESIGNATED AREA at the<br />
MSU Summer <strong>Show</strong>case for you to deposit your COMPLETED<br />
entry forms WITH PAYMENT and proper paperwork attached, for<br />
those which qualify at the MSU <strong>Show</strong>. PLEASE NOTE that entries<br />
received after June 22 will be charged post entry fees-see Post<br />
Entries below. Entries must be submitted on the Official Entry Form<br />
for the show, which may be duplicated. Entries will not be<br />
processed without a cheque, and open cheques will be processed<br />
in the proper amount and deposited when received. CHEQUES<br />
COVERING MORE THAN ONE ENTRY need to be accompanied<br />
by a detailed description <strong>of</strong> how the money is to be applied.<br />
SINGLE ITEM FEES (SUCH AS STALLS, SPONSORSHIPS, etc.)<br />
CANNOT BE SPLIT<br />
All entries must be signed by the (1) owner, (2) rider, driver and/or<br />
handler, (3) the trainer or by the agent(s) <strong>of</strong> such person(s). In the<br />
case <strong>of</strong> an owner, rider, driver or handler under <strong>18</strong>, his/her parent<br />
or guardian, or if not available, the trainer, must also sign an entry<br />
blank on the minor’s behalf. If any owner, rider, driver, handler or<br />
trainer permits his/her agent to sign the entry on his/her behalf, the<br />
owner, rider, driver, handler or trainer understands and agrees that<br />
he/she is bound by all <strong>of</strong> the terms/conditions <strong>of</strong> the entry form. If<br />
any <strong>of</strong> the above fails to sign the entry form, his/her first entry into<br />
the ring as an owner, rider, driver handler or trainer shall be<br />
construed as his/her acceptance <strong>of</strong> the rules <strong>of</strong> the competition and<br />
<strong>of</strong> AHA and shall ipso facto render him/her subject to said rules.<br />
All entries received, shall constitute an agreement with and are<br />
bound by the rules <strong>of</strong> the show, EC/USEF and AHA, and all fees<br />
and stabling costs are payable. Exhibitors who wish to reserve<br />
stalls must include payment in full. Farm/corporation names will<br />
be used ONLY if the farm/corporation is on the horse's registration<br />
papers, AND the farm/corporation has been registered with<br />
EC/USEF AND AHA, and those membership numbers noted on the<br />
entry form. A photocopy <strong>of</strong> both sides <strong>of</strong> the Certificate <strong>of</strong><br />
Registration <strong>of</strong> each horse entered MUST be submitted with the<br />
entry forms. If the name shown on the registration paper is<br />
different from the person entering the horse, an affidavit, a copy <strong>of</strong><br />
the sales contract or authorization form must be filed with the <strong>Show</strong><br />
Office.<br />
All owners, trainers, riders, drivers and handlers MUST PROVIDE<br />
COPIES <strong>of</strong> their current AHA competition membership cards or<br />
purchase new memberships in order to compete at the <strong>Region</strong>al<br />
show. Single Event memberships will be accepted only for the Last<br />
Chance <strong>Show</strong>. Exhibitors in the Lead Line classes are exempt from<br />
membership requirements.<br />
NOTICE: Each competitor is responsible for supplying<br />
management with correct association numbers (USEF, EC, AHA)<br />
for horse, owner, rider and trainer, before the day(s) <strong>of</strong> the<br />
competition. The scores <strong>of</strong> competitors who fail to supply correct<br />
numbers may not be counted toward National awards.<br />
BACK NUMBERS WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL ALL<br />
REQUIRED INFORMATION IS PROVIDED TO THE SHOW<br />
OFFICE AND PAYMENT FOR CLASSES HAS BEEN MADE.<br />
INCOMPLETE ENTRY FORMS WILL BE BILLED $15!!<br />
RETURNED CHEQUES There will be a $100.00 fee for returned<br />
cheques.<br />
POST ENTRIES Post entries will be charged additional fees as<br />
listed in the schedule for each class entered after the appropriate<br />
closing date/time.<br />
For <strong>Region</strong>al Classes, ANY ENTRY MADE AFTER 7:00<br />
PM Wednesday July <strong>18</strong> may be charged POST<br />
ENTRY FEES PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $200.<br />
Refer to Entries section above for further details.<br />
Please note that “changing” a class is in fact the scratch <strong>of</strong> a<br />
class followed by a class add and will be subject to appropriate<br />
fees.<br />
REGIONAL QUALIFICATION Any eligible horse may show in<br />
any regional class providing they have accumulated the number<br />
<strong>of</strong> points or placings required at AHA Recognized shows, or<br />
received the required number <strong>of</strong> qualifying scores at EC open<br />
dressage shows approved by AHA for <strong>Region</strong> <strong>18</strong>, from January<br />
2011 to start <strong>of</strong> 2012 <strong>Region</strong>al show. For further details regarding<br />
qualifications, please refer to the new qualification schedule as<br />
set out in the AHA handbook . Qualifications must be provided<br />
with entries and will be verified. Also, please note that per AHA<br />
Article COMP 1351.5 “Top Tens from any show and <strong>Region</strong>al<br />
Top Five, Champion or Reserve Champion do not qualify a horse<br />
for a <strong>Region</strong>al <strong>Championship</strong> class. 4. Only points/scores from<br />
shows other than <strong>Region</strong>als or Nationals will count for <strong>Region</strong>al<br />
<strong>Show</strong>s.)”<br />
AGE OF INDIVIDUALS Juniors age will be determined as <strong>of</strong><br />
December 1 for the purposes <strong>of</strong> AHA youth classes. All adults<br />
are determined as <strong>of</strong> January 1 in accordance with EC rules.<br />
AHA MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED for <strong>Region</strong>al<br />
<strong>Championship</strong>s; this includes walk-trot/jog exhibitors. You<br />
MUST HAVE a copy <strong>of</strong> your current AHA Membership Card.<br />
AHA SINGLE EVENT FEE is only an option for the Last Chance<br />
<strong>Arabian</strong> <strong>Show</strong><br />
AMATEUR STATUS Every person who has reached his/her <strong>18</strong> th<br />
birthday and competes in classes for amateurs under EC rules<br />
must possess current amateur certification issued by Equine<br />
Canada or equivalent USEF certification if USEF member.<br />
RECIPROCITY EC/USEF membership status is recognized by<br />
each <strong>of</strong> the U.S. and Canada under an agreement between the<br />
Federations. This agreement pertains to rule infractions. EC<br />
rules take precedence. EC members MUST be members <strong>of</strong> their<br />
Provincial equestrian governing body and show pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
insurance coverage (i.e. OEF membership or EC insurance from<br />
NPP’s).<br />
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS <strong>Horse</strong>s shown at these<br />
shows must have been issued a certificate <strong>of</strong> registration from<br />
the Canadian <strong>Horse</strong> Registry and/or the <strong>Arabian</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> Registry<br />
<strong>of</strong> America or if under one year <strong>of</strong> age be eligible for registration<br />
and registration applied for, and must be entered in their full<br />
registered name. Only weanlings that have had registration<br />
applied for may show without registration papers. A copy <strong>of</strong> the<br />
registration papers showing pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> ownership must be<br />
submitted with the entry form at the time <strong>of</strong> making entries. In the
case <strong>of</strong> a sale or lease, it is required that a contract <strong>of</strong> the sale or<br />
lease, or statement from the owner be submitted with the copy <strong>of</strong><br />
the registration papers.<br />
<strong>Horse</strong>s shown in the Half/Anglo <strong>Arabian</strong> Division must have been<br />
issued a Registration certificate from CPAR or AHA or be eligible<br />
for registration if under one year <strong>of</strong> age. Half-<strong>Arabian</strong> colts/stallions<br />
two years and older may not compete in Half-<strong>Arabian</strong>/Anglo<br />
<strong>Arabian</strong> breeding line classes.<br />
HEALTH PAPERS Current health certificates are required for all<br />
horses coming from the United States. Please check with your<br />
Veterinarian regarding border crossing regulations. A copy <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Negative Coggins test within 6 months is required for EACH<br />
horse, and should be sent with entries.<br />
CROSS ENTRIES Cross-entries are prohibited between the<br />
Country English Pleasure sections and the English Pleasure<br />
sections at the same show.<br />
REFUNDS Refunds on fees will be made upon request with a<br />
written statement from your Veterinarian on said Veterinarian's<br />
letterhead, if received by June 22, 2012. NO REFUNDS on stalls<br />
after June 22, 2012. Office fees are non-refundable. 75% <strong>of</strong> class<br />
entry fees will be refunded on receipt <strong>of</strong> a Veterinarian certificate<br />
following the close <strong>of</strong> entries, but prior to your classes. Exhibitors<br />
must notify the <strong>Show</strong> Secretary <strong>of</strong> cancellations prior to the time the<br />
class is called.<br />
STABLE AREA<br />
BARN OFFICE Personnel will be available commencing 12:00<br />
NOON Sunday, July 15 and throughout the show. Following movein,<br />
hours for shavings and hay purchase/delivery will be posted.<br />
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES Stalls are available NOON<br />
Sunday, July 15, until 10:00PM Saturday, July 21. ACCESS to the<br />
grounds will NOT be available until NOON Sunday July 15.<br />
Grounds must be vacated by 10:00 PM Saturday July 21.<br />
STABLING Stabling is limited and will not be allocated unless stalls<br />
have been PAID FOR and STABLING FORMS submitted to the<br />
<strong>Show</strong> Secretary. Stalls are assigned as stall fees are paid. Early<br />
entry is an advantage for stabling assignment. Preferred Stabling<br />
will be given to Gold Sponsors. Exhibitors wishing to stable<br />
together must send their entries in the same envelope. NO<br />
REFUNDS on stalls after the closing date, June 22, 2012. Each<br />
exhibitor is responsible for the cleanliness <strong>of</strong> his/her aisle.<br />
Shavings must be used, No straw permitted. HORSES MUST BE<br />
BATHED IN DESIGNATED WASH STALL AREAS.<br />
SHAVINGS AND HAY Will be available at current market price.<br />
MANURE DISPOSAL Manure disposal is provided for in<br />
designated areas.<br />
GENERAL<br />
ADMISSION TO ARENA No person will be permitted to enter the<br />
arena except class participants, judges and their assistants, show<br />
photographers and show management personnel. Attendants will<br />
not be permitted in arena until summoned by order <strong>of</strong> the judge.<br />
ASTM/SEI HEADGEAR Properly fitting protective headgear<br />
meeting ASTM/SEI standards must be worn, with harness secured,<br />
by the following: 1)All juniors riding in Hunt Seat Equitation<br />
sections; 2)All juniors riding on competition grounds, unless<br />
exempted for the class in which they are competing at that time;<br />
3)All dressage exhibitors warming up for or exhibiting in dressage<br />
classes. All juniors must also wear footwear with appropriate heel<br />
at all times when riding.<br />
CALL FOR CLASSES The two-minute rule will be STRICTLY<br />
ENFORCED. Only when a horse or rider/diver/handler has back to<br />
back classes will a 3 minute tack hold be granted if requested<br />
before the end <strong>of</strong> the preceding session. All tack changes must be<br />
made at the entrance gate to the arena. The PA system and<br />
paddock calls are a courtesy but it is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the<br />
exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the<br />
prescribed time.<br />
CAMPERS There are 50 hook-ups available on the grounds with<br />
15 amp service and water connection. First paid, first reserved.<br />
Verification tickets will be provided when entries are picked up,<br />
and must be visibly displayed. CAMPERS MUST NOT BE<br />
PLUGGED INTO ANY OF THE BARN HYDRO OUTLETS OR<br />
TO ANOTHER CAMPER HOOKED UP TO HYDRO. NO<br />
CAMPING IN TENTS PERMITTED FOR SAFETY REASONS.<br />
CONDUCT Exhibitors are hereby notified that any act <strong>of</strong><br />
discourtesy or disobedience to Judges, Officials and/or <strong>Show</strong><br />
Staff on the part <strong>of</strong> the owner, trainer, rider or any other<br />
attendant, shall be grounds to disqualify the horse, and all entry<br />
fees and other charges and prize money won shall be forfeited.<br />
The <strong>Show</strong> Committee also bears the responsibility to aid the<br />
judges in avoiding contact with exhibitors or their agents before<br />
and during the show.<br />
<strong>Horse</strong>s shall not be punished unnecessarily or severely. No<br />
excessive whipping will be tolerated. <strong>Horse</strong>s must be treated<br />
with respect at all times.<br />
DIVISION/COMBINING OF CLASSES Classes may be<br />
split/combined at the discretion <strong>of</strong> show management.<br />
Management reserves the right to split any class for safety<br />
purposes.<br />
DOGS All dogs must be on leashes at all times and not allowed<br />
in the show arena complex. There will be a $100.00 fine to the<br />
owner <strong>of</strong> a dog found loose on the property for the first <strong>of</strong>fense,<br />
after which removal <strong>of</strong> the dog from the premises will result.<br />
DRESSAGE All <strong>Region</strong>al ride times will be posted at the show<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice, and dressage presentations will be held in the Arena, once<br />
all dressage rides have been completed. The Champion and<br />
Reserve Champion horse should be present for the awards; Top<br />
5’s are encouraged to be there as well.**NEW- EC Headgear<br />
Policy- see ”ASTM/SEI Headgear” above and EC Rulebook for<br />
complete regulations.<br />
DRUG TESTING Any horse entered in any class at a competition<br />
subject to the requirement to pay drug testing fees may, while on<br />
the competition grounds and on the recommendation <strong>of</strong> the chair<br />
<strong>of</strong> the provincial Equine Medication Control Committee or the<br />
chair’s appointee, be selected for equine medication control<br />
testing.<br />
FOOTING in the arena is a sand/dirt mix and in the outside<br />
exercise areas is sand mix.<br />
GOLF CARTS All operators must be 16 years <strong>of</strong> age or older<br />
and all Golf Carts shall be operated in a safe and prudent<br />
manner at all times. Any violation <strong>of</strong> this rule, in the sole<br />
discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Management, shall result in the forfeiture <strong>of</strong><br />
the Golf Cart to the rental facility without reimbursement and may<br />
result in further penalties. Operation <strong>of</strong> any Golf Cart on the show<br />
grounds constitutes agreement to be bound by these provisions.<br />
IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS Every horse will be assigned an<br />
identification number, and this number must be worn by<br />
exhibitors when the horse is being shown. Any exhibitor using a<br />
wrong number or having no number may be excused or<br />
disqualified at the Judge’s discretion.<br />
JUDGES In the event <strong>of</strong> illness or failure <strong>of</strong> a Judge to attend this<br />
show or perform his duties, the <strong>Show</strong> Committee reserves the<br />
right to substitute a judge. No contact shall be made with the<br />
Judges before or during the period <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Show</strong> unless<br />
accompanied by an EC Steward. Any <strong>of</strong>fensive or abusive<br />
contact with the Judge by an Exhibitor will be cause for<br />
immediate removal from the show. Further, no exhibitor shall<br />
approach a Judge regarding a decision unless he first obtains<br />
permission from the <strong>Show</strong> committee or <strong>Show</strong> Steward, who<br />
shall arrange an appointment with the Judge if so granted. No<br />
exhibitor has the right to inspect the Judge's cards without the<br />
Judge's permission.
LUNGING NO LUNGING IN SHOW RING AT ANY TIME. Lunging<br />
permitted in outside exercise areas ONLY, and will not be permitted<br />
in any warm up area where horses are being ridden/driven.<br />
PADDOCK INSPECTION PROCEDURE In all <strong>Region</strong>al <strong>Show</strong><br />
Breeding and In-Hand Classes, horses will enter in an assigned<br />
order and be inspected for signs <strong>of</strong> abuse immediately prior to<br />
entrance into the ring for judging. The Order <strong>of</strong> Go shall be<br />
determined and posted by the birth date, oldest to youngest. The<br />
manner <strong>of</strong> inspection will be at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Show</strong><br />
Management. Any horse that does not enter the ring in his<br />
assigned order may be eliminated at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Show</strong><br />
Management. Judging will be done in accordance with AHA<br />
Resolution 11/06 using the “in the ring” procedure”. For more<br />
information on this system, please visit the AHA website.<br />
PARKING There are designated parking areas for cars and horse<br />
transports. Please insure that you do not leave vehicles adjacent to<br />
barn areas where they will interfere with animals or other exhibitors'<br />
access.<br />
P.A. SYSTEM Due to possible unforeseen problems with any<br />
mechanical device, the P.A. system and class calls over that<br />
system are considered a courtesy. The exhibitor is responsible for<br />
having his horse at the gate at the prescribed time.<br />
PROTESTS Protests may be made to the show committee by an<br />
exhibitor, owner, agent, trainer or the parent <strong>of</strong> a junior exhibitor for<br />
any violation <strong>of</strong> EC rules. It must be in writing, signed by the<br />
protester, addressed to the secretary <strong>of</strong> the competition at which<br />
time the alleged violation occurred; accompanied by a deposit <strong>of</strong><br />
$100.00. It must be received by the Steward, competition Manager<br />
or a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Show</strong> Committee within 48 hours <strong>of</strong> the alleged<br />
violation.<br />
RESPONSIBILITY <strong>Region</strong> <strong>18</strong> Last Chance <strong>Arabian</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Show</strong>,<br />
AHA <strong>Region</strong> <strong>18</strong> and/or the owners <strong>of</strong> the show facility will not be<br />
responsible for any article <strong>of</strong> any kind or nature that may be lost or<br />
destroyed or in any way damaged. Each exhibitor will be<br />
responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person or<br />
any animal, or damage to any property while on the show grounds<br />
by any horse owned or exhibited by him/her, and shall indemnify<br />
the Management against all legally established claims or<br />
damages <strong>of</strong> any kind or nature that may grow out <strong>of</strong> any injury<br />
occasioned by any horse owned or exhibited by him/her.<br />
PRESENTATION OF THE SIGNED ENTRY FORM SHALL BE<br />
DEEMED AN ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES, AND ALL<br />
RULES OF EC AND AHA.<br />
SCHEDULE <strong>Show</strong> Management reserves the right to change<br />
and modify the schedule <strong>of</strong> events as necessary to<br />
accommodate the entries received. Any class where numbers <strong>of</strong><br />
entries will cause overcrowding in the arena will be split upon the<br />
decision <strong>of</strong> <strong>Show</strong> Management; such splits to be announced.<br />
SHOEING REGULATIONS See current EC rule book for<br />
shoeing requirements – <strong>Arabian</strong>s 4 1/2" toe; H/A <strong>Arabian</strong>s 5" toe.<br />
Only clear material may be used on Breeding/In-Hand horses<br />
being exhibited. We reserve the right to check any horse for<br />
compliance with shoeing rules..<br />
SMOKING RESTRICTIONS/FIRE REGULATIONS Smoking is<br />
prohibited in the barns, in the show arena, in the paddock areas<br />
or where otherwise posted. No open flames in stabling areas.<br />
No pressurized propane tanks allowed in stabling areas. No<br />
excessive accumulation <strong>of</strong> litter or rubbish. All entrances, aisles,<br />
stairways, etc. must be free and clear <strong>of</strong> obstructions. All stall<br />
curtains to be <strong>of</strong> flame-retardant material.<br />
TACK HOLDS Only when a horse or rider/driver/handler has<br />
back to back classes will a 3 minute tack hold be granted if<br />
requested before the end <strong>of</strong> the preceding session.<br />
TOP 5 AWARDS Top 5 Awards will be made regardless <strong>of</strong> the<br />
number <strong>of</strong> entries in a class. Only awards made to the top 50%<br />
rounded up, <strong>of</strong> the class will receive IA Breeders Sweepstakes<br />
payout, AHA <strong>Horse</strong> Achievement Award, High Point <strong>Horse</strong><br />
Achievement Award, High Point Amateur Achievement Award<br />
and Distance Award Points, and ARRAB programme payout.<br />
VETERINARIAN INSPECTION At the <strong>Show</strong> Committee's<br />
discretion, any animal may be subject to an examination by the<br />
show Veterinarian as a safeguard against communicable equine<br />

The ARRAB program was designed as an incentive for Canadian Amateur Riders and Owners. The<br />
nomination fees are pooled with sponsorships and fundraising proceeds, and this creates funds for<br />
payback to the Top 5 winners. <strong>Horse</strong>s do not need to be entered in the ARRAB program to show in the<br />
classes, but do need to be nominated PRIOR to JULY 1 st 2012. Nomination fee per horse is $50,<br />
non-refundable and in addition to the class entry fees. Exhibitors are responsible for entering their<br />
class(es) at the <strong>Region</strong>al <strong>Championship</strong> <strong>Show</strong>. For a list <strong>of</strong> the Royal Red Classes <strong>of</strong>fered this year,<br />

DIRECTIONS TO WESTERN FAIR DISTRICT<br />
From Hwy 401 (Westbound from Toronto/Kitchener) Exit at Highbury Avenue. Travel North approximately 12<br />
minutes to Florence Street, turn left. Stay on Florence for about 10 minutes; at Egerton, turn left. Turn right into<br />
the fairgrounds and proceed straight ahead to the back <strong>of</strong> the Agriplex.<br />
From Hwy 401 (Eastbound from Sarnia (Hwy 402), Windsor) Exit at Wellington Street. Travel North<br />
approximately 15 minutes to the downtown core. Go through the overpass, turn right at the lights onto York<br />
Street. Continue on York Street for about 8 minutes, past the Agriplex & the Sportsplex and just before the next<br />
lights, veer right onto Egerton Street. Turn right into the fairgrounds and proceed straight ahead to the back <strong>of</strong><br />
the Agriplex where the Barn Manager can assist you further.<br />

PART I: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS<br />
A. To be eligible to compete in the Canadian <strong>Arabian</strong> Breeders <strong>Championship</strong> classes a horse must:<br />
1. BE REGISTERED with the Canadian <strong>Arabian</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> Registry or the Canadian Partbred <strong>Arabian</strong> Registry or the appropriate<br />
WAHO approved registry..<br />
2. BE CANADIAN BRED, as recorded by the certificate <strong>of</strong> registration.<br />

I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in this Competition, as a rider, driver, handler, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, junior exhibitor, or as a<br />
parent or guardian <strong>of</strong> a junior exhibitor. I AM FULLY AWARE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HORSE SPORTS AND PARTICIPATION IN THIS COMPETITION<br />
INVOLVE SERIOUS RISK OF HARM INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, RISKS OF ACCIDENT, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH,<br />

may be asserted against or incurred by any <strong>of</strong> them as a result <strong>of</strong> (1) my participation in the Competition or (2) any act, failure to act, or neglect (a) by me, my<br />
agents, employees, riders, handlers, trainers, coaches, drivers, contractors or invitees, or (b) by any animal owned or exhibited by me or in my custody or control.<br />
I AGREE and represent that I am qualified and eligible to enter and/or participate in the Competition, and every horse I am entering is qualified and eligible as<br />
entered.<br />
I AGREE to accept AS FINAL any decision <strong>of</strong> AHA, the <strong>Show</strong> Commission or <strong>Show</strong> Officials concerning my qualification or the qualification <strong>of</strong> my horse to enter<br />
the Competition or any results <strong>of</strong> the Competition, except to the extent that the Rules <strong>of</strong> AHA, the Competition, EC or USA Equestrian permit a protest or hearing<br />
<strong>of</strong> such decisions. Should a hearing be requested, I agree to accept AS FINAL the decision <strong>of</strong> the particular hearing body. I agree to release, hold harmless and<br />
not to sue AHA, the Competition Sponsor, their <strong>of</strong>ficers, directors, employees, volunteers or members concerning any decision <strong>of</strong> AHA, the Competition, its <strong>Show</strong><br />
Commission, <strong>Show</strong> Officials or any hearing body that relates to my qualifications or my horse(s)’ qualifications to enter the Competition or any results <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Competition.<br />
I AGREE that AHA has the sole right to control, sell, supervise or give away (or assign to others the right to do so) the exclusive rights to broadcast, televise,<br />
reproduce, transmit and disseminate all or part <strong>of</strong> this event, and I agree that AHA may use or assign, in any way AHA sees fit, photographs, films, videos, audios,<br />
cablecasts, or other likenesses <strong>of</strong> me and my horse taken during the course <strong>of</strong> the Competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit <strong>of</strong> the Competition or AHA.<br />
Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way which implies endorsement <strong>of</strong> any company, product, product<br />
category or service. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion <strong>of</strong><br />
privacy, right <strong>of</strong> publicity, or to misappropriation.<br />
By signing below as a parent or guardian <strong>of</strong> a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child’s participation and agree to all <strong>of</strong> the above provisions, and further agree to<br />
assume all <strong>of</strong> the obligations <strong>of</strong> this AHA Assumption <strong>of</strong> Risk, Release and Indemnification personally and on behalf <strong>of</strong> the child. In the event that my child<br />
participates in an Equine Canada sanctioned competition where approved headgear is required for juniors, he/she will wear a properly fitted ASTM/SEI or BSI<br />
approved helmet. It is understood that juniors not meeting this requirement will not be allowed to compete at these competitions.<br />
This Assumption <strong>of</strong> Risk, Release and Indemnification is governed by the Laws <strong>of</strong> the Province <strong>of</strong> Ontario and is intended to be interpreted as broadly as<br />
possible in favour <strong>of</strong> the Released Parties. I agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue (place) for any legal action against any <strong>of</strong> the Released Parties shall be in<br />
the Courts <strong>of</strong> the Province <strong>of</strong> Ontario. If any part <strong>of</strong> this agreement is determined to be unenforceable, all other parts shall remain effect.<br />
