Ultra Low Power Clock Generator for Passive UHF RFID Tags

A clock generator is used to generate the
system clock for the basebandb processor
of the RFID tag. Passive UHF RFID
tags need to draw the power from a weak
RF signal transmitted by the reader and
only few μW power can be obtained to
achieve several meters of operating
range. A ring oscillator is adopted as the
clock generator to ensure low power
operation and meet the area and cost
requirement of the system.
