Open to registered Pure Bred <strong>Arab</strong>ian Stallions, Mares and Geldings 4 years and over, and to be<br />

judged as ridden horses. Novices are eligible.<br />

The highest place previously unqualified horse in <strong>the</strong> first six can qualify and <strong>the</strong> exhibitor must<br />

produce his/her card at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> class for <strong>the</strong> judge to sign.<br />

In Hand Classes (For pure bred geldings only)<br />

Senior: The highest placed previously unqualified TWO geldings in <strong>the</strong> first six can qualify. Cards<br />

should be produced and signed as above.<br />

Junior: In mixed age and mixed sex classes <strong>the</strong> highest placed pure bred gelding <strong>of</strong> each age can<br />

qualify i.e. one 1 yr old, one 2 yr old, one 3 yr old. They must be previously unqualified and<br />

THIS BRITISH AMATEUR/HOME PRODUCED ARABIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS<br />

is a Qualifying competition open to registered PURE/ ANGLO-ARAB/PART BRED <strong>Arab</strong>ian <strong>Horse</strong>s<br />

IN-HAND and RIDDEN HORSES<br />

Young Handler and Young Rider.<br />

Veteran In-Hand and Ridden 15 years and over (Two Highest placed in all open senior<br />

classes) .<br />

These will qualify in <strong>the</strong> usual manner as <strong>the</strong> rules stated above .<br />

AWARD GOES TO THE TWO HIGHEST PLACED AMATEUR IN EACH CLASS<br />

Please note : Qualifying cards must be pre-purchased and presented to <strong>the</strong> judge in <strong>the</strong> ring for signing at <strong>the</strong><br />

• Handler not to have been paid for showing or producing any horse for a third party, this includes<br />

any remuneration ei<strong>the</strong>r as employment, casual showing, or any in-kind benefits whatsoever.<br />

• <strong>Horse</strong> not to have "resided" on a pr<strong>of</strong>essional yard on show or training livery in 2012.<br />

• <strong>Horse</strong> not to have been shown by a pr<strong>of</strong>essional in 2012.<br />

• <strong>Horse</strong> not to have received "regular" training from a visiting pr<strong>of</strong>essional in 2012.<br />

Exhibitors DO NOT have to be members <strong>of</strong> AHS to enter <strong>the</strong> Championships when qualified.<br />

CLASSES 3-12, 14-18, 21-28, 40,41,55,56 are qualifying classes for <strong>the</strong><br />

British Amateur/Home Produced Championships to be held at: -<br />

BAHPAC is a Qualifying competition open to registered PURE/ ANGLO-ARAB/PART<br />

BRED IN-HAND and RIDDEN ARABIAN HORSES<br />

PLEASE REMEMBER: Qualification cards (which will have been previously<br />

applied for by <strong>the</strong> competitor from <strong>the</strong> Qualifying body) MUST be produced in <strong>the</strong><br />

ring. The judge is NOT ALLOWED to sign out-with <strong>the</strong> ring.<br />

If you are unsure that you may be eligible for qualification, please clarify your<br />

position with <strong>the</strong> ring steward PRIOR TO LEAVING THE RING, as mistakes cannot<br />

be rectified once you have left <strong>the</strong> ring.<br />

This Show is a qualifier for <strong>the</strong> Midland <strong>Arab</strong> Group Ltd<br />

National Championships for Young Riders <strong>2013</strong><br />

Rules for Competition<br />

Note: <strong>the</strong> HORSE is being judged for its SUITABILITY AS A YOUNG RIDERS MOUNT, NOT <strong>the</strong> rider.<br />

Class 28 is a qualifier for <strong>the</strong> Midland <strong>Arab</strong> Group Ltd Young Riders <strong>2013</strong> Championship.<br />

Open to registered Pure, Anglo or Part Bred <strong>Arab</strong> horses/ponies suitable for & to be ridden by a<br />

rider up to age 21 years on 1 st January in <strong>the</strong> current year. TO BE JUDGED AS A RIDING<br />

HORSE/PONY. <strong>Horse</strong>s & Ponies will not be ridden by <strong>the</strong> Judge; each will give a short individual show<br />

and may be stripped. The highest two previously unqualified in each class will qualify.<br />

The Final will be at <strong>the</strong> Midland <strong>Arab</strong>ian Festival , Sunday 30 th <strong>June</strong> <strong>2013</strong>. A rosette and qualifying card<br />

sponsored by <strong>the</strong> Midland <strong>Arab</strong> Group Ltd will be presented to each qualifier. Enquires to Jacqui Pouch<br />

RULES FOR CRABBET CLASSES (RIDDEN AND IN HAND)<br />

AND FOR THE NATIONAL CRABBET IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIPS<br />

RULES FOR IN HAND CRABBET CLASSES<br />

1. To quality for entry into <strong>the</strong>se classes <strong>the</strong> horse must be registered with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Society</strong><br />

and <strong>the</strong> exhibitor must send in EITHER a copy <strong>of</strong> a letter from Lindsay Thain or Caroline Sussex<br />

confirming that <strong>the</strong> horses entered have 75%+ Crabbet breeding OR a copy <strong>of</strong> a Heritage<br />

Certificate which shows 75% or above Crabbet breeding and issued by <strong>the</strong> Crabbet<br />

Organisation.<br />

2. If <strong>the</strong> Certificate states that <strong>the</strong> horse is under 75% Crabbet breeding or <strong>the</strong>re is no letter <strong>the</strong> entry<br />

will be refused and returned to <strong>the</strong> exhibitor. The percentage can be found at <strong>the</strong> bottom <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Certificate.<br />

3. All horses forward MUST be shown in a natural manner. The pose must be natural, i.e. one fore<br />

leg slightly behind <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r and one hind leg slightly behind <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. The head should be held<br />

with <strong>the</strong> neck showing natural arch and curve <strong>of</strong> throat line, so that <strong>the</strong> neck is not uncomfortably<br />

stretched or raised. The horse should be trained to stand sensibly in this position with expression <strong>of</strong><br />

interest in <strong>the</strong> handler. A frozen pose is unacceptable.<br />

4. Any unnatural posing, flicking with a whip or circling when being run out, will result, at <strong>the</strong><br />

Judge’s discretion, in <strong>the</strong> horse being judged as though no presentation or display had been possible<br />

and <strong>the</strong>refore penalized accordingly.<br />

5. Whips must be no more than <strong>the</strong> length <strong>of</strong> a cane i.e. 65 cm. Halters can be modern as long as<br />

<strong>the</strong>y are comfortable for <strong>the</strong> horse.<br />

RULES FOR RIDDEN CRABBET CLASSES<br />

6. To qualify for entry into <strong>the</strong>se classes <strong>the</strong> horse must be registered with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />

<strong>Society</strong> and <strong>the</strong> exhibitor must send in EITHER a copy <strong>of</strong> a letter from Lindsay Thain or<br />

Caroline Sussex (Secretary) confirming that <strong>the</strong> horses entered have 75%+ Crabbet breeding OR a<br />

copy <strong>of</strong> a Heritage Certificate which shows 75% or above Crabbet breeding and issued by<br />

RULES FOR THE IN HAND CRABBET ARABIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS<br />

1. Exhibitors for <strong>the</strong> National Crabbet Championships must enter on <strong>the</strong> AHS National Show<br />

Schedule Entry Form AFTER <strong>the</strong>y have qualified but not before.<br />

2. Late qualifiers can enter up to <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>June</strong> <strong>2013</strong> by contacting Linda Nicholson at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong><br />

<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice. All entries will be checked by <strong>the</strong> Crabbet Organisation.<br />

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE NATIONAL CRABBET IN-HAND CHAMPIONSHIPS <strong>2013</strong><br />

1. First and Second Prize Winners In Hand at <strong>the</strong> Crabbet Shows <strong>of</strong> 2006 and 2007. First and second<br />

In-hand prize winners at <strong>the</strong> Welsh Crabbet Show, 2009, 2010 and 2011. First and second prize<br />

winners in In Hand Crabbet Classes up to <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> 2008.<br />

All horses that qualified in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 are eligible for <strong>the</strong> <strong>2013</strong> Championships. In<br />

addition all horses who are invited to <strong>the</strong> <strong>2013</strong> Convention will automatically qualify for <strong>the</strong> <strong>2013</strong><br />

Crabbet Championships.<br />

QUALIFICATIONS FOR <strong>2013</strong><br />

Qualifiers will be awarded to <strong>the</strong> first two horses unqualified in <strong>the</strong> top 4 <strong>of</strong> every Crabbet Class.<br />

The Crabbet Organisation Committee reserve <strong>the</strong> right to withdraw <strong>the</strong>ir support <strong>of</strong> any show that<br />

does not abide by <strong>the</strong>se rules.<br />

Highest Placed Member rosettes<br />

A rosette will be presented in every class to <strong>the</strong> highest placed member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> SRGAHS.<br />

Entry fees for classes 1 & 2 is £10.00 for SRGAHS members and £15.00 for non-SRGAHS members.<br />

On completion <strong>of</strong> class 2 First and Second place winners from class 1 and 2 will come toge<strong>the</strong>r to decide <strong>the</strong><br />

winner <strong>of</strong> “The Gabrymmal Trophy” for <strong>the</strong> best Classic <strong>Arab</strong>ian Head. Rosettes will be awarded 1 st to 6 th<br />

Place in both classes. Open to any pure bred <strong>Arab</strong>ian. Class will be judged purely on <strong>the</strong> head. A light rug<br />

or summer sheet must be worn which has no logos.<br />

Class 3 is a qualifier for <strong>the</strong> British <strong>Arab</strong>ian Championships.<br />

Class 5 is a qualifier for <strong>the</strong> Crabbet In-hand Championships.<br />

Class 6 Q Pure Bred <strong>Arab</strong> Yearling Colt, Filly or Gelding<br />

Class 7 Q Pure Bred <strong>Arab</strong> 2 or 3 year old Filly or Gelding<br />

Class 8 Q Pure Bred <strong>Arab</strong> 2 or 3 year old Colt<br />

Class 9 Q 75%+ Crabbet, Yearlings, 2 or 3 Year old<br />

Rules). A Pre Novice horse is one that has not been placed first more than two times at an affiliated show.<br />

not qualifiers for any championships. Being placed first in a Pre Novice class does not change <strong>the</strong> Novice<br />

SRGAHS Show Rules <strong>2013</strong><br />

1. The <strong>Scottish</strong> Regional Group <strong>of</strong> <strong>Arab</strong>ian <strong>Horse</strong> Supporters <strong>Horse</strong> Show is affiliated to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong><br />

<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Society</strong> and is conducted in accordance with <strong>the</strong> Show Rules and Regulations <strong>of</strong> this<br />

organisation.<br />

2. All exhibits entering <strong>the</strong> affiliated classes must be registered by <strong>the</strong> closing date for entries in <strong>the</strong><br />

appropriate stud book or register <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> AHS and copy certificates, showing current owner and address<br />

are required with all entry forms. Incomplete entries will be returned.<br />

3. The Show Committee does not accept liability for any accident, death, illness or injury to<br />

horses, owners, riders, spectators, or any o<strong>the</strong>r persons or property. Exhibitors must<br />

indemnify <strong>the</strong> Show Committee against all actions, costs, claims, demands or liability arising out <strong>of</strong><br />

any action in which he or she may be concerned.<br />

4. No person o<strong>the</strong>r than show <strong>of</strong>ficials and competitors are allowed in <strong>the</strong> show ring at any time unless<br />

with permission.<br />

5. The judge’s decision is final.<br />

6. Depending on <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> entries received classes may be divided, amalgamated or<br />

cancelled at <strong>the</strong> discretion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Show Committee.<br />

14. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR No person shall be mounted on a horse on <strong>the</strong> showground<br />

unless he/she is wearing a correctly fitting hard hat. The <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Society</strong> and SRGAHS strongly<br />

recommends that hats conform to <strong>the</strong> standards EN1384 or PAS 015 and are correctly fitted with<br />

chinstraps. This is compulsory for anyone under 18 and for anyone taking part in Show jumping<br />

classes.<br />

15. Anyone who wishes to ride in <strong>the</strong> Native <strong>Arab</strong>ian Costume Class without protective headgear or<br />

anyone who wishes to wear a Top Hat must understand that you do so at your own risk. Should you<br />

have an accident during, or on <strong>the</strong> way to or from this class or any o<strong>the</strong>r class/ Championships you<br />

take full responsibility and will not hold SRGAHS responsible in any way.<br />

THE S.R.G.A.H.S CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS PERPETUAL TROPHY<br />

Awarded to <strong>the</strong> Supreme Champion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> show<br />

Trophy winners are responsible for <strong>the</strong> care <strong>of</strong> and insurance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> trophies in <strong>the</strong>ir care –<br />

failure to return a trophy will result in a £50.00 penalty<br />

All trophies must be returned one month before <strong>the</strong> show to a Committee Member at <strong>the</strong> latest.<br />

Failure to do so will result in that competitor being banned from competing at <strong>the</strong> show and forfeiting<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir entry fees. Any damaged trophies should be repaired or replaced by <strong>the</strong> winner returning it.<br />

THE ARAB HORSE SOCIETY RULES FOR SHOWING <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

This show is affiliated to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Society</strong> and is being run under <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

rules which are available on The AHS website www.arabhorsesociety.org<br />

and a copy will be available at <strong>the</strong> secretary’s desk on <strong>the</strong> show day.<br />

RIDING IS A RISK SPORT<br />

Although all due care and attention will be paid to matters <strong>of</strong> safety and Health and Safety, persons attending<br />

<strong>the</strong> show do so at <strong>the</strong>ir own risk. The <strong>Scottish</strong> Regional Group <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> Supporters accepts no<br />

responsibility for injury or loss to persons or possessions, how so ever caused. It is strongly advised that<br />

persons attending <strong>the</strong> show have in place personal and public liability insurance cover.<br />
