month. Pre-course reading is advisable for<br />

Monitoring the cardiovascular Thank you system,<br />

minimum monitoring. Basic concepts of<br />

electricity and magnetism. Capacitance,<br />

inductance, impedance. Amplifiers, filters,<br />

amplification of biological potentials.<br />

Sources of interference. Processing<br />

storage and display of physiological<br />

measurements. Principles of lasers,<br />

cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.<br />

Principles of pressure transducers,<br />

resonance, damping, frequency response.<br />

Measurement of blood pressure. Cardiovascular<br />

Cardiac anatomy & coronary circulation.<br />

administrative organisation of these <strong>days</strong> as<br />

late registration will not be permitted.<br />
