Rainwater
Every drop of rainwater falling on the roof is collected and piped into a series of underground
storage tanks with a total storage capacity of 225,000 litres. This water is used for topping up the
three pools, pool hall wash down and for toilet flushing.
Four underground tanks are located under the external courtyard, every drop of water falling on the roof is
collected in the tanks through an efficient roof drainage system.
The water is drawn from the tanks via pumps before being filtered and treated with UV sterilisation.
Water that is used in the pool is taken to the pool plant room and is fed into the pool water
treatment system to be filtered and UV sterilised again and chemically treated and heated before it
is fed into the pools.
When the Centre is operating at normal capacity, it is predicted the tanks will hold sufficient water
for at least two months.
