Length <strong>of</strong> Career in Real Estate<br />

The overall responses were widely distributed<br />

More than 20% <strong>of</strong> respondents have worked in<br />

real estate for 3 or fewer years, while 35% had<br />

been in the industry slightly longer term, 4 to 10<br />

years. About 22% have been working in real estate<br />

for over 20 years. These results suggest that<br />

real estate <strong>of</strong>fers many <strong>Realtors</strong> a career, and not<br />

simply a temporary job; incomes were sustainable,<br />

making the personal investment <strong>of</strong> time and<br />

The complete survey indicates that broker owners<br />

and broker managers had been in the industry<br />

had been working the least amount <strong>of</strong> time, or just<br />

7.7 years on average.<br />

Number <strong>of</strong> Property Listings<br />

in the Past Year<br />

Nearly half <strong>of</strong> the respondents had 10 or fewer<br />

properties listed in the past year. Only 22% had<br />

listed more than 25 properties. Responses were<br />

again quite widely distributed around a mean <strong>of</strong><br />

24 properties.<br />
