<strong>Anne</strong> <strong>Savage</strong> was born in July 27, 1896 her original name is Annie Douglas <strong>Savage</strong>. <strong>Anne</strong> was born<br />
in Montreal, Quebec and died on march 25, 1971 at the age of 74. Between the years of 1914 and<br />
1915, <strong>Anne</strong> <strong>Savage</strong> studied hard at the Art Association where she had several instructors.
<strong>Anne</strong>s private life was changing when her twin brothers were killed in france during world war 1. After<br />
the war was finished <strong>Anne</strong> went to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she studied design at a school there.<br />
When she came back she taught courses to children.
After <strong>Anne</strong> <strong>Savage</strong> spent some time at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto with a famous painter named<br />
Arthur Lismer, who is also another member of the Group of Seven. After <strong>Anne</strong> retired from teaching at<br />
High Schools, she became Supervisor for the school board of Greater Montreal, and was invited by McGill<br />
University to teach, <strong>Anne</strong> took the offer and was an instructor between the years of 1954 and 1959.
<strong>Anne</strong> traveled to Europe where some of her art was exhibited.In 1933 <strong>Anne</strong> was one of the<br />
members of the Canadian Group of Painters. Later on she decided to spend time in British Columbia<br />
and did sketches of native villages on the northwest coast.
<strong>Anne</strong> <strong>Savage</strong> was inspired to be a painter by The Group Of Seven. <strong>Anne</strong> proved to be an excellent<br />
student,by being awarded an AAM scholarship in 1915. After completing her studies at the AAM, she<br />
worked as a medical artist in a Military hospital in Montreal and Toronto. She continued to work as a<br />
medical artist in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
<strong>Anne</strong> <strong>Savage</strong> was studying at the Minneapolis School of Design in 1919 to 1920. When she returned<br />
to Montreal.<br />
She became one of the founding members of the Beaver Hall Group.
