seasonal menu. In the process we all discover that living in the moment can create the best<br />
food, recipes, and experiences that life has to offer.<br />
SOUL (FUL) RECIPE REDUX - BRINGING GRANDMA'S RECIPES INTO THE 21ST<br />
CENTURY TABLE WITH MASTERCOOKS AND DIETICIAN <br />
<strong>Food</strong> is a major part of culture. We will focus on family favorite recipes and how to make them<br />
healthier, whether it's decreasing trans-fats, palm oil, or sugar, increasing fiber or vitamins, or<br />
just trimming off calories. You will be able to work on the recipes from your culture, so you do<br />
not have to give up what is important to you. Learn to preserve your heritage by modifying<br />
ancestral food treasures to make them more wholesome for the whole family. Bring your<br />
favorite family recipe and will create a recipe redux.<br />

Journalist and culinary historian Toni Tipton-Martin brings to New<br />
Haven green her engaging visual history of African American cooks<br />
in her collection of photographs, The Jemima Code. Featuring<br />
larger-than-life images of black women at work in the kitchens of<br />
slave and sharecropper cabins and shotgun houses throughout the<br />
South, these photographs cement the women’s legacies and<br />
contributions to American cuisine.
