Course #0505
Course Description
The CX Maintenance training course
provides a comprehensive overview of the
hardware available in the CX test system.
The course focuses on the preventative
maintenance procedures and
troubleshooting activities needed to
ensure maximum system uptime.
General Information
Who Should Attend
• Test system maintenance engineers and technicians
Applicable Test Systems
• X-Series CX systems
Prerequisites
• None
Course Structure
• 4 days, including classroom and practical exercises
Topics Covered
This course covers the operation of the diagnostic
interface, hardware functionality, and preventative
maintenance procedures applicable to the CX test system.
Attendees will become confident in navigating through the
user interface and accessing the functions of enVision that
help in the calibration and maintenance of X-Series
systems. Execution of the instrument families associated
checker, verification, and calibration programs will be
explained. Attendees will also be provided with access to
systems to ensure they are comfortable and confident in
performing the preventative maintenance activities
necessary to achieve maximum reliability.
Benefits of Attending the Course
Faster Time to Market
In the competitive environment of the semiconductor
industry, reliable test systems are a necessity if product it
to reach the market in a timely manner. By providing the
maintenance staff with the skills necessary to ensure
maximum reliability, the test development activity will be
as efficient as possible. Skilled maintenance staff can also
isolate and correct issues that arise in a timely manner,
ensuring the test development activity can resume quickly
after an issue is identified.
Faster Test Times
Maintenance does not directly impact test time, however,
confidence in the performance of the system can yield
benefits. If the test development and production
engineering staff are confident in the system performance
there is no requirement for inclusion of multiple averaging
or excessive wait times to compensate for possible test
system performance compromises. This leaves the test
development and production engineering staff to focus on
the creation of a fast and reliable application.
Higher System Availability
Systems that are not in use are an expensive waste of
resources. On successful completion of the maintenance
training, the maintenance staff will have the tools and skills
needed to ensure the best uptime. Intervention and rapid
resolution of problems is essential in a competitive
production and development environment. The experience
gained during the training will enable your maintenance
staff to be a valuable contributor to the team.
CX Maintenance
X-Series Training Course Overview
Lower Maintenance Costs
A system which runs well is a major asset to the
organization. Poorly maintained systems add to facility
and infrastructure costs, raising the overhead of the
organization. The training provides the knowledge and
skills to maintain the equipment and prevent failures
resulting from poor maintenance practices. Rapid,
accurate identification of issues reduces the cost of lost
production, and limits the number of no problem found
repair returns. This contributes to the lowest cost of
ownership possible.
Employee Development
Skilled maintenance staff is a valuable asset to the
organization. With the benefits of the skills learned in the
training, your maintenance staff will continue their
personal development and become and even more
valuable member of the team.
