The long-term reliable synthetic roofing membrane
outshining its competitors.
Rhepanol ® fk + photovoltaics
Rhenoplast ®

The perfect match on the flat roof: the thin-film
solar energy system by Schüco combined with
the synthetic roofing membrane Rhepanol fk.

Whether flat roof or photovoltaics:
a perfect combination of economy and
ecology is paramount.
Enormous
untapped potential
Power generating installations on roof areas have long since become a
common feature of urban and rural landscapes. However, while using photovoltaics
(PV) today has become a matter of course, the power yield could be
significantly higher. Suitable areas are available. In Germany alone, there are
more than 2,800 square kilometres of roof area which could be utilised to cover
60 percent of German energy demand.
Creating necessary
conditions, implementing
viable solutions
For installing a photovoltaic system the roof must fulfil certain requirements.
Along with the bearing capacity, the roof waterproofing beneath the PV system
has to meet highest demands. The solution offered by FDT and Schüco sets new
standards and offers a compelling level of safety and efficiency.
Rhepanol fk and the Schüco
thin-film flat roof system.
Clean power generation
needs clean solutions
FDT and Schüco have some things in common. Both companies are well
respected within their fields of competence, supplying market-leading technology
products. Both companies demonstrate innovative power combined with environmental
responsibility. And both companies provide specific solutions for the flat
roof. So what could be more appropriate than joining efforts? This is exactly what
we are offering for your solar building projects. Solution No. 1: Rhepanol fk.
The special thing is that the long-term reliable synthetic roofing membrane is now
also available for solar installations! The membranes are fused together by hot air
welding. Solution No. 2: Schüco thin-film flat roof system. By using these two
components, solar power generation will turn into a well-designed and long-term
reliable option.
The top priority: long-term
reliable waterproofing
Project managers should absolutely focus on first class roof waterproofing.
Rhepanol fk by FDT made of the successful material polyisobutylene (PIB) is literally
made for this purpose. This rubber-like synthetic material provides the basis for the
long-term reliability of Rhepanol fk making this roofing membrane „the measure
application method
Also perfect for refurbishment
Outstanding environmental
of all things“ on the flat roof. Membranes installed on our reference objects 25, 27
and even 30 years ago provide impressive evidence. You can find detailed information
on these reference objects in the FDT roof report. The most convincing proof is the
oldest synthetic roof in the world in the town of Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen - installed
in 1956. It goes without saying that such reliability and durability will also benefit
photovoltaics projects. Whether new solar building or value-added refurbishment:
the strong features of Rhepanol fk such as robustness, UV resistance, hail resistance
and flexibility at temperatures as low as minus 60 °C are of particular advantage. In
addition, the bitumen compatibility of Rhepanol fk provides for another economic
plus, e. g. for energy-efficient building refurbishment. From an ecological point of
view, Rhepanol fk is the clean choice. The latest life cycle assessment even certifies
environmentally sound performance for the synthetic roofing membrane during its
entire service life.

Whatever a solar roof might need,
with FDT and Schüco a long future will be included.
The perfect
flat roof solution
The special Rhepanol fk version for solar building provides
the right basis. The thin-film solution by Schüco is the congenial
system to complete your roof: MSE 100 flat roof east/west. This
new generation of Schüco thin-film solar installations will boost
power generation on your roof top. With great lightness and
pure elegance.
Optimal utilisation
of roof areas
MSE 100 flat roof east/west is a smart system designed
in accordance with ecologic requirements, thus contributing to the
protection of our environment. Highly efficient microcrystallinebased
Schüco thin-film modules requiring low amounts of resources
for production and not containing any cadmium or lead are used.
These thin-film modules constitute self-supporting roof-shaped
static units, providing for an evenly spread weight per square metre
Optimised system components:
paired modules in east and west
alignment constitute roof-shaped
static units. A new wire rope
using eyelets in the fixing
bracket stabilises the structure.
and allowing for installation on the most different types of flat
roofs. MSE 100 flat roof east/west is designed without any
ballast and can be installed quickly and cost-efficiently without
any penetration of the roof sealing. Up to 90 percent of the net
roof area can be utilised without affecting the accessibility of the
roof. Notwithstanding the lightweight construction, the system
will resist wind speeds up to 240 km/h* (depending on the wind
zone etc.)
