<strong>Cit<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>in</strong>-<strong>text</strong><br />

Although <strong>ACS</strong> <strong>style</strong> allows for different <strong>in</strong>-<strong>text</strong> <strong>citation</strong> <strong>style</strong>s, the most common method is<br />

to use a number to refer to your sources. The references at the end of the paper will then<br />

be listed <strong>in</strong> the order they appear <strong>in</strong> the <strong>text</strong>.<br />

Example:<br />

Oscillation <strong>in</strong> the reaction of benzaldehyde with oxygen was reported<br />

previously. 1 Further oscillations were reported to be very systematic. 2<br />
