<strong>TRIAL</strong> <strong>POSTER</strong> <strong>DESIGN</strong> <strong>CONTEST</strong> « <strong>NO</strong> <strong>MORE</strong> <strong>IMPUNITY</strong> »<br />
A poster about the fight against impunity of the most serious crimes (crimes against humanity, genocide, torture, war<br />
crimes), under the slogan “<strong>NO</strong> <strong>MORE</strong> <strong>IMPUNITY</strong>”. That's what <strong>TRIAL</strong> wants from you, as the organization is celebrating<br />
its ten years anniversary and wants to raise awareness among the public about the fight against impunity.<br />
Deadline for entries is (extended to) November 5, 2012.<br />
Context<br />
Every day, atrocities are perpetrated against civilians and protected people. Torture, massacres, enforced<br />
disappearances, enrolment of child soldiers, etc. These heinous acts are considered crimes under international law.<br />
However, victims face great difficulties to obtain justice and their perpetrators are rarely held to account.<br />
This has to change!<br />
Help us draw the world's attention to the fight against impunity by designing a poster under the slogan “<strong>NO</strong> <strong>MORE</strong><br />
<strong>IMPUNITY</strong>”. Send your creation(s) along with your name and address at postercontest@trial-ch.org.<br />
The 10 favourites will be featured on our website, shown at the occasion of various events and the top three winners will<br />
receive cash prizes.<br />
<strong>CONTEST</strong> RULES<br />
Winning prizes<br />
First prize: US$ 1000<br />
Second prize: US$ 500<br />
Third prize: US$ 200<br />
(4th to10th: publication of the poster on <strong>TRIAL</strong>’s website)<br />
How to participate?<br />
All posters are to be submitted by email to postercontest@trial-ch.org, along with your name, address, email and phone<br />
number (Information provided for administrative purposes only).<br />
The file must be submitted in jpeg, in A3 poster format (297 x 420mm), 300 dpi.
The poster must mention the slogan « No More Impunity ». Designs may use any form of photography, illustration,<br />
collage or typography, provided no copyrights are violated in the design. Each entrant assumes responsibility of content<br />
of all posters submitted and assumes all responsibilities of trademark and other copyright infringements. Each entrant<br />
must submit original works.<br />
Who can participate?<br />
The competition is open to everyone from any country. You can submit as many posters as you like.<br />
When is the deadline?<br />
The deadline for entries is midnight UTC+01:00 on November 5, 2012.<br />
How will my poster be judged?<br />
<strong>TRIAL</strong> will designate a number of finalists (max. 50, depending on the number of submissions), whose works will be<br />
posted on our facebook page on November 10, 2012.<br />
From November 10 to December 1, a public vote will be organised on facebook, each interested person being able to<br />
participate in the selection on the finalist posters, by “liking” their favourite one(s). 10 posters that will have gathered the<br />
greatest number of votes, as determined by the number of "likes" they collect, will be submitted to a jury chaired by<br />
Patrick Chappatte.<br />
After December 1, 2012, the jury will designate the 3 winners. The result will be announced on our facebook page and<br />
our official webpage on December 10, 2012 (International Human Rights Day).<br />
What else I should know?<br />
Materials may be reproduced freely by <strong>TRIAL</strong>. Where a poster is reproduced by <strong>TRIAL</strong>, the designer will be credited.<br />
Participation in this contest is automatically deemed as acceptance of the present Contest rules.<br />

About <strong>TRIAL</strong><br />
<strong>TRIAL</strong> (Swiss association against impunity) is a tax-exempt association under Swiss law based in Geneva. It is apolitical<br />
and non-confessional and has consultative status before the United Nations Economic and Social Council.<br />
Comprising lawyers, NGO leaders and victims, the association was founded in 2002, right at the moment when the<br />
Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court entered into force and four years after the arrest of General<br />
Pinochet in London, which had inspired the founders of the NGO.<br />
The main objective of <strong>TRIAL</strong> is to put the law at the service of the victims of international crimes (genocide, crimes<br />
against humanity, war crimes, torture and forced disappearances).<br />
