offered, and b y keeping abreast of the times in ever y phase
of its work, the Idaho Forestry School has drvclopcd Lo a
position where today it is considered one of the best in the
United Stales. Within close proximity to the University are
all of the phases of the lumber industry, and these, with the
Univcr ity's own laboratories, arboretum, and experimental
tracts, are utilized in presenting an invaluable and practical
course in forestry. The school is doing much to produce men
who will be able to cope with the problems of conser vation
and reforestation-vital que Lion of the da). The
cour. r is divided into three four-year curricula, and many
graduate subjects are taught to students from almost every section of America.
The dean of the school, Francis Garner Miller, M. F., is in a large part responsible
for the high standing which the school enjoys. Idaho can well afford to honor him.
