The work <strong>of</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> Education consis ts in trau11ng<br />

high school t eachers, principals, superintendents, and upervisors.<br />

The School is also at the dispo al <strong>of</strong> t eachers in service<br />

who wish to improve themselves, school trustees looking for<br />

teachers, and t eachers looking for positions. The supply <strong>of</strong><br />

teachers is increasing and it is possible to raise the standards.<br />

Throughout the country the tendency is to increase the<br />

number <strong>of</strong> education courses required for a certificate. It<br />

has been said for many years that t eaching should become<br />

a real pr<strong>of</strong>ession, and now that goal is being approached.<br />

Las t summer there were forty-five graduates on the campus<br />

who were candidates for the master's degree in Education.<br />

The U ni ver ity <strong>of</strong> <strong>Idaho</strong> has been very successful in placing its graduates in tbc<br />

public schools, and also in the higher institutions <strong>of</strong> the orthwest. <strong>Idaho</strong> graduates<br />

are found on the faculties <strong>of</strong> nearl y every normal school and college in the four<br />

states <strong>of</strong> the Inland Empire.<br />
