The work of the School of Education consis ts in trau11ng
high school t eachers, principals, superintendents, and upervisors.
The School is also at the dispo al of t eachers in service
who wish to improve themselves, school trustees looking for
teachers, and t eachers looking for positions. The supply of
teachers is increasing and it is possible to raise the standards.
Throughout the country the tendency is to increase the
number of education courses required for a certificate. It
has been said for many years that t eaching should become
a real profession, and now that goal is being approached.
Las t summer there were forty-five graduates on the campus
who were candidates for the master's degree in Education.
The U ni ver ity of Idaho has been very successful in placing its graduates in tbc
public schools, and also in the higher institutions of the orthwest. Idaho graduates
are found on the faculties of nearl y every normal school and college in the four
states of the Inland Empire.
