<strong>ASB</strong> <strong>Community</strong> Tr<strong>us</strong>t is an independent grant-making<br />
organisation supporting the work of not-for-profit<br />
groups in Auckland and Northland. Founded on the<br />
sale of its shares in <strong>ASB</strong> bank, the Tr<strong>us</strong>t has made grants<br />
worth more than $750m since being formed in 1988.<br />

<strong>Community</strong> Support Grants<br />
Funding Programme<br />
■■Organisations requesting a grant of up to $20,000 will get a response<br />
within eight weeks. These are called our Quick Response Grants.<br />
■■Organisations requesting a grant of more than $20,000 will get a<br />
response in four to five months.<br />
<strong>Community</strong> organisations can apply under three funding areas:<br />
People, Places or Participation. Funding criteria and funding<br />
guidelines for each area are on our website.<br />
Who can apply for grants?<br />
■■Charitable tr<strong>us</strong>ts or<br />
incorporated societies<br />
that have been registered<br />
for at least 12 months<br />
■■Organisations within the<br />
Tr<strong>us</strong>t’s region (See map) ><br />
■■Applications m<strong>us</strong>t align<br />
with the Tr<strong>us</strong>t's priorities<br />
under the People, Places or<br />
Participation funding areas.<br />
We don’t fund<br />
KAITAIA<br />

■■International travel<br />
■■Conferences<br />
■■Projects promoting religio<strong>us</strong> or political objectives<br />
■■Fundraisers or fundraising activities<br />
■■Overseas aid<br />

In addition, we don’t fund items that are deemed to be the<br />
responsibility of central or local government. We will not provide<br />
funding for operating costs for organisations which receive a high<br />
proportion of their income from government funding.<br />

Our funding Areas<br />
PEOPLE<br />
Our People funding area supports community organisations working<br />
to facilitate improved outcomes for high need communities or<br />
programmes that foc<strong>us</strong> on positive outcomes for children, young<br />
people and their families.<br />
Grants will be considered for costs relating to:<br />
■ Operating costs ■ Programme costs ■ Resources ■ Equipment.<br />

PLACES<br />
Our Places funding area supports projects that conserve the significant<br />
history of our region; projects and organisations that protect and<br />
enhance the environment; marae development and building projects<br />
that develop community cohesion, enhance community participation<br />
or are of regional significance.<br />
Grants will be considered for costs relating to:<br />
■ Operating costs ■ Programme costs ■ Resources ■ Equipment<br />
■ Marae development projects (including project management costs)<br />
■ Building projects.<br />
PARTICIPATION<br />
Our Participation funding area supports community organisations<br />
working to grow and develop recreation and sport; creative projects<br />
and organisations fostering access to, engagement with and experience<br />
in the arts and projects that celebrate the diverse cultures of our region.<br />
Grants will be considered for costs relating to:<br />
■ Operating costs ■ Programme costs ■ Resources ■ Equipment<br />
■ Playing surfaces.<br />
