A) Cross Arm Jump
Rope
Arms turn in unison, cross arms
at elbows and jump, uncross
arms and jump with feet together
5 or more times.
Able to complete skill 4 or less
times.
Unable to perform skill.
B) Dribble with
alternate hands
while moving
From waist the ball downward
(with pads of fingers, not palm),
ball returns to starting position,
alternating hands, traveling the
length of the gym, keeping ball
under control.
Able to perform skill ¾ of the
length of the gym.
Able to perform skill less than ½
of the length of the gym.
C) Throw a small ball
at target
Stand with side to target, weight
shifted back/front, step forward
with opposite foot, overhand
pattern with elbow leading, trunk
rotation, follow through
extended toward target.
Able to perform 3-5 of the skills.
Unable to perform skill.
D) Catch a fly ball
Overhead (catch with two hands
from an overhand throw), eye
contact with ball, ball caught
with glove or scoop, arms/body
“give” to absorb force.
