Guidance notes
Background
A forecast grade is the grade a teacher expects a candidate to achieve for a syllabus. We use forecast grades to
help set syllabus grade thresholds or when a candidate is absent through sickness or requires special
consideration.
Completing the form
• Complete this form for any of your candidates who are not listed on the pre-printed Forecast Grade Form sent
to you in your Cambridge pre-exam despatch.
• Complete a separate form for each syllabus.
• Give one grade per candidate.
• If you cannot forecast a grade enter ‘X’ into the ‘Forecast grade’ column.
• Use lower-case letters a to e when you enter a Cambridge International AS Level forecast grade (see table
below).
