Search Committee invites applications for the post of Vice Chancellor
The Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth at Parbhani is one
of the four Agriculture Universities in Maharashtra entrusted with the
responsibilities to provide education in agriculture and allied fields,
undertake research and facilitate technology transfer in Marathwada region
in the state of Maharashtra. The jurisdiction of the university spans 8
districts of Maharashtra. The university has 12 constituent colleges and 32
affiliated colleges through which it offers graduate and post graduate
courses. The university has 17 research stations dedicated to research in
specific areas.
Maharashtra Government has amended the Maharashtra Agricultural
Universities Act, 1983 thereby providing for a transparent and objective
process for selection of Vice Chancellor with an idea to select a scholar of
eminence with leadership qualities and administrative abilities to transform
the university into a Centre for academic and professional excellence.
Chancellor and Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra has formed a three
member Search Committee for recommending suitable names for the post of
VC.
The above Search Committee now invites nominations / applications
from eminent academicians who fulfill the qualifications and experience
prescribed for the post of Vice Chancellor as per the order dated 21 st July,
2010 and 5 th July 2011 and are willing to take this challenging assignment
for the next five years. All the necessary details regarding essential
qualifications & experience, desirable experience and desired skills &

Interested individuals may send four hard copies of application
and a soft copy in MS word format giving detailed resume in the format
available on the university website, alongwith two-page justification for
his/her candidature, two page vision statement for the university, and names
and addresses of three distinguished individuals well acquainted with his/her
work. Institutions may also nominate suitable candidates.

before 31-08-2013, 5.00 pm clearly mentioning the name of the University
on the envelope. Applications received thereafter shall not be considered.
