to do. But it can tell you what others are already doing. To that end,
managers of more than 100 open rail-trails in the northeast region of the Massachusetts 3
United States were surveyed on a wide variety of trail maintenance and
operations issues. See Table 2. (Some trail managers manage multiple
trails. In some cases, they completed a survey for each trail, and in some
cases they provided a single response representing more than one trail.
