Specifically, we will celebrate those new members graduating to active status, and we will celebrate the time and legacy of the service of active members going sustainer. Please call the building if you wish to recognize any of the ladies (or any JLLR member with whom you have worked this year or want to honor) with a contribution to their membership to the Dorothy Mae Foster McCain Honor Society. You can contribute any amount to your honoree. Honors given by May 10th will be recognized at the Annual Meeting. Membership Council is pleased to announce the outcomes of the following votes: * The SCAT Board Seat was approved, and it is a new nominated placement. * Congratulations to Ellen Hill, who was accepted as the Sustainer At Large to Membership Council. *Congratulations to the new Members at Large to Finance Council: Valerie Fortner Jessica Breaux Jessica Wallace Callie Gutierrez *Provisionals no more. We should welcome our “new members.” The by-law change was passed. “Learn it and Lead” JLLR ANNUAL MEETING May 19, 2011 Mission Statement - The Junior League of Little Rock is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Call to Order – by President Julia Strickland and meeting began at 7:10 p.m. Approval of 2009-2010 Annual Meeting Minutes – Lisa Nichols moved and Jamie Huffman Jones seconded the approval of the minutes. The membership unanimously approved the minutes. Sustainer of the Year - Julia Strickland announced that Cindy Miller had been named the Sustainer of the Year. Active of the Year – Lisa Nichols announced that Kori Raymer Gordon had been selected by the membership as the Active of the Year. Kori, a member since 2006, is the mother of 4 boys, a wife, a pharmacist, and acted as the Technology Advisory Committee Chair. Kori was presented with a gold pin from Jones & Sons Jewelers. Honoring our New Sustainers – Jamie Huffman Jones announced the following names of the actives transitioning to sustainers: Robyn Phillips Allmendinger, Kimberly Carly Bowman, Stephanie Lackey Bynum, Shelley Leslie Chumley, Christa Clark, Michelle Hartz Davenport, Aminah Abdur-Rahim Eddings, Tamika Silverman Edwards, Brenda Hatton Ficklin, Allison Lasiter Hester, Leslie Kruk Humiston, Amy Bridges Kurczek, Amy Rossi Lasley, Heather Pop Mercer, Kim Meyer-Webb, Melissa Privitt Morgan, Jennifer Pierce, Sarah Monroe Priebe, Anna Goesl Richter, Shelley Ragan Rogers, Erin Williams Scoggins, Valla Powell Seel, Julia Haney Strickland, Jamie Metz Sweeney, Wendie Brown Weare, Nicole Sippial Williams, Tara Ray Wright, and Lorri Baumgardner Yung. Each member was presented with a thank you gift from the league. Provisional of the Year – APT Chair Jamie Huffman Jones announced that Kristin Byrant, from the ABC class, and Marissa Mahoney, from the 123 class were this year’s provisionals of the year. Each girl was presented with a gold pin from Jones & Son Jewelers.
