How to claim<br />
This section of the guide explains<br />
how to claim on your Bupa policy.<br />
It is essential you understand this<br />
claiming process so that accessing<br />
your treatment runs smoothly and<br />
you can ensure your costs are<br />
paid in full.<br />
Step one -<br />
Visit your GP<br />
Your GP will advise you if you need<br />
to see a consultant or healthcare<br />
professional for your health needs.<br />
There are some conditions where a<br />
GP referral is not required and you<br />
can find details at bupa.co.uk/<br />
policyinformation. These details<br />
may be updated from time to time.<br />
Step two -<br />
Get referred<br />
off<br />
Your GP will give you a letter<br />
detailing the course of treatment<br />
they recommend. This is called an<br />
‘open referral letter’, and will give<br />
you access to the consultant,<br />
hospital or healthcare professional<br />
of your choice.<br />
Step three -<br />
Call us<br />
As soon as you have seen your GP,<br />
please call us so that we can<br />
discuss your options and explain<br />
which consultants and healthcare<br />
professionals are covered. We will<br />
let you know what you need to do<br />
next and send you any forms you<br />
may need to complete.<br />
