ABBOTT SEKAQUAPTEWA
Abbott Sekaquaptewa (Hopi), past Chairman of the Futures for Children (FFC) Board of Directors,
became involved with FFC in 1978. Abbott was extremely passionate about improving the lives of
American Indian children and played an integral part in developing the self-reliance method utilized by FFC
in all of our programs. Abbott spearheaded the Youth Leadership Program in the mid 1980’s with a weeklong
camp dedicated to leadership development for American Indian students. Abbott’s contributions to
FFC have lasted long after his time, truly leaving a legacy of philanthropy. Past recipients of the Abbott
Sekaquaptewa Leadership Awards include Al Baldwin, Peter Fagan, Dan Namingha, and Bruce Larsen.
JIM WEST FUND
