Thematic Sections
1. The importance of theory for social work practice – the reflection
of practice in social work theory.
This section will focus primarily on the reflection of relations
between theory and practice with respect to the
reflection of contemporary practice in the area of social
work theory.
2. Reflection of social work practice through research
This section will deal with the following topics: mutual
relations between research, theory and practice, possible
application of research in organizations that provide social
work services, problems of the application of research
outcomes in practice, communication between researchers
and workers in practice, community planning research.
3. What theory does not offer to practice
This section will concentrate on real and potential deficits
in theory-practice relation, on potential reserves and the
optimal way of their use.
4. Social work theory and practice in the European context
This section will develop the discussion of contemporary
trends in social work in Europe.
Conference Participants
Workers of public administration and social-work related nonprofit
organizations, academic staff, students of social work and
related disciplines.
Conference Outputs
Languages
Conference proceedings in printed form. Papers undergo double
anonymous review process. The scientific committee reserve the
right to ask for specification of paper abstracts, as long as the abstracts
do not correspond with the topic of the conference.
Papers that do not correspond with the requirements of the scientific
committee will be included in the proceedings published
on a CD ROM.

of a paper in the conference proceedings is preconditioned by the
author’s participation in the conference) coffee breaks, welcome

Students of social work related disciplines at the University of
Hradec Králové have free entry to the conference.
Registration fee should be paid by September 15, 2011.
Application Deadline
The application form should be submitted by June 1, 2011. The
application form must include: title of the paper, paper annotation,
key words both in Czech and English, postal and e-mail addresses
of the author, institutional affiliation, author’s specialization
and all academic titles.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 30, 2011.
Instructions for Contributors
The text should not exceed 2500 words. The text should contain
abstract and key words in English, author’s name (including academic
titles), postal and email addresses, institutional affiliation,
author’s specialization
Papers are to be submitted electronically by September 15, 2011
to: hradeckednysp@uhk.cz.
We reserve the right not to accept papers that do not corresopnd
with the topic of the conference.
