President’s Message
Playing the Same Song.
I did not expect that so many members would learn the song-of-the
-month, “Making Whoopee,” at the last meeting. Can you believe
how different the interpretations were? So let’s do it again. A new
song can be found on page 6. If you have time, learn it. Better yet,
memorize it, and entertain us with your own interpretation on June
18!
New Meeting Day and Time? I have received only a little feedback
about changing the meeting from Monday nights to Sunday afternoons.
What do YOU think? Call one of the Board members and
let us know how you feel. Those who don’t like the change are our
dancing members because it turns out that Sunday afternoon is
their favorite time to go dancing – sometimes to several places on
that one day. Otherwise, most members have been supportive because
driving is easier, people are not so tired, there’s still time
after the meeting to go out to dinner and spend time with family.
As I mentioned last month, we are not going to make a snap decision
on this issue, but a decision will certainly be made by the end
of the year, so please give us your opinion sooner than later.

The First Video From Our New Camera. Cameraman Sal Genco
seemed VERY pleased with the new Sony camera that the club
bought. What he liked best was the ability to film a wide screen, as
well as zoom in nicely. If you want a copy of the video from the
last meeting, contact Pete Donatella.
Fun in Mexico. Rose and I got to team up with Jan and Bruce
Mundy in Rocky Point for a weekend. We had two accordions and
jammed into the night. They had to hold me back from joining an
itinerant Mariachi band that was there for
a festival. Oh well, a wandering Mariachi
band could not possibly be as much fun as
the Arizona Accordion club, right?
