LLANDUDNO RALLY by Ray GW7AGG It was the first time that the RAIBC had had a stand at Llandudno. It was manned by myself and Robert MW0RHD. We only had a presence and didn’t sell any goods, although this may change in future years. Attendance was up on previous years on the Saturday, but was well down on the Sunday. The atmosphere was good, friendly and enjoyable, and the school canteen provided good food. The takings were small – only £20.50 for badges, lanyards and a few small donations. However many new contacts were made and have been followed up, and some good possible suggestions for future rally attendances. - Sorry, wrong sort of rally….. MISCELLANY VHF FIELD DAY (– a few year’s ago) Quentin GW3BV (your chair – taking the picture), Ray GW7AGG (your editor - left) and Bob GW7GNF went up to the hills above Devil’s Bridge, inland from Aberystwyth to take part in VHF Field Day. 37 There weren’t enough volunteers from the local club to be able to enter the competition, but the trio went up to take part and to give points to other entrants. The only movement on this bleak area of moor land were the grey clouds scudding overhead and blades of grass twitching in the wind. The only other life were some cattle in the far distance, a red kite soaring overhead and a territorially concerned meadow pipit announcing its presence from a nearby fence post.
