Level 4
I adore shape and colour, I am predominately inspired by
nature. I look for and explore the hidden aspects that aren’t
obvious to create prints and shapes for collections.
Using inspiration from various artists
and my own research I created a
vibrant multi layered print. I love this
outcome as it can be used in so many
different ways.
I used draping on the stand to create garment shapes. Draping
creates subtle, soft, round designs and adds an extra dimension
when designing.
Creative Drawings
Using Inspiration from Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet
I created a suitable inspired collection.
Publication
Using my interest in Psychology I created a publication about why some
people are attracted to print more than others. I used research and images to
portray my findings as well as artists and concepts.
White Shirt
Using my visits to Venice as a reference point I used Venetian
Iron work as inspiration for my womens white shirt.
I created these prints using Photoshop, I
photographed inks moving and flowing through water
and manipulated them to create these colourful,
exotic prints.
Native American Indian
Inspired by the rich Native American Indian Culture mixed with
the hard working class background of Denim, I was inspired
to design a collection, this ranges from Tops to Jackets and
Trousers to Dresses.
I was inspired by the Native
American Indians face paints and
the colours used in them, as well as
their clothes. I also drew inspiration
from the geometric shapes
used in some of their clothing.
Looking at proportions and style is very important to me, making sure that my
toile is correct before making my final garment is essential.
Looking at different stages of the toiling process, as well as
exploring the art of subtraction cutting.
Final 6 pieces chosen for Native American Indian inspired collection,
paired with each of their working drawings.
