Motion Carried.
Chairman Medders invited William Rudd to the podium.
Mr. Rudd was not at the meeting.
Chairman Medders invited Lawrence Brown to the podium.
Mr. Brown state I’m here about two things, the first being changing of my address and the second being
parking my work truck in my yard. I have been told that I can’t park it there or bring my semi into the
neighborhood that it was tearing up the roads. I own the property and have been there from day one since
the neighborhood started. Now all of a sudden I can’t park my truck in the yard. I want to find out why
can’t I do it? My address has always been a B since I moved out there and I have tried to get it changed a
couple of time ever since I have lived out there and can’t get it changed. Me and my neighbor have the
same number his is A and mine is B and I want to see if I can get something done about it.
Commissioner Bozeman asked Mr. Brown to explain his address problem to her again that she did not
completely understand what it was that he was having a problem with.
Mr. Brown stated that his address had always been 6106B and my neighbor’s is 6106A, I guess when they
zoned that place they skipped some and I ended up with a B on my address. I want to know if you can
eliminate the B on my address and have my own number. What can be done about it?
Commissioner McDonald stated that Mrs. Clem is our 911 Director and I believe that you said that you
could add a 1 to it and that would work.
September 20, 2012 Page 3
Mrs. Clem stated that this was the address issue on Moree Lane that was discussed in the workshop a
number of houses are improperly addressed. This is the one where we need to readdress the whole road in
order make it meet the requirements of the County’s ordinance. There are some people out there don’t
want their addresses changed. I have been in training this past week and have not been able to look more
in-depth at the issue. There are a couple of options that can be done. I just need to go back out there with
the addressing equipment and look at each house individually. I have Mr. Brown’s number at the office
and I will be working on this and get with him on what will be done to correct the addressing issue on
Moree Lane.
Mr. Brown asked what about me parking my semi in my yard? It is only the tractor, not the trailer.
Commissioner Bozeman state, Mr. Brown our zoning ordinance states that 18 wheelers, semis, tractor
trailers are not to be driven in sub-divisions. The reason being is that these roads are not built to support
those trucks and they tear the roads up.
Commissioner McDonald stated that he was not trying to override the ordinance, but that tractor by itself
was not any heavier that some other crew cab trucks or other automobiles in that neighborhood and I
know that there is another man that parks his tractor trailer in his yard in that sub-division.
Commissioner Bozeman stated that if we start that we will have to change the ordinance, then advertise it
and have public hearings. Mr. Brown the only way that you can take that semi in there is we would have
to go back through our zoning ordinance and do public hearings and we would have to amend the
ordinance. When you start amending for you just to take your tractor in and park in your yard then the
man up in my district will take the whole darn truck load of gas and tear up roads there and we would
have to repair them. We just need to go by the ordinance that is in place now.
