Arjun Ahluwalia
Finance
Arjun Ahluwalia is a junior Finance major from Mumbai, India. He is
an international student who lived in India for the first 18 years of his
life. He grew up in Mumbai, a metropolitan city and the financial
center of India.
An avid traveler, Arjun has travelled to several countries around the world, experienced different
cultures and mindsets, and viewed problems with global solutions. Having been raised with an
open mindset, in a very diverse environment, he has spent most of his life navigating through
different perspectives and has greatly enjoyed his experience this far.
These great experiences led him to join AIESEC, Texas A&M as the Vice President in his first
semester in school. AIESEC is the largest student organization in the world, with over 60,000
students in 110 countries. He also co-founded Zegla, LLC, a website and free cross-platform
mobile application that integrates real-time GPS and your social network on a map. Zegla’s team
was also admitted in Startup Aggieland’s Entrepreneurs in Residence program.
In his second semester he was introduced to the Student Government Association and promptly
applied for an officer position in the Diversity Commission. Upon acceptance, Arjun experienced
the different facets of the university and the broad spectrum of student organizations, all under
exceptional leadership. This propelled him to join the International Student Association as the
Speaker of the International Council to advocate the voice of the international student body in
the Student Senate. Being involved with these highly impactful organizations also opened his
eyes to the vast number of the vibrant traditions that Aggieland possesses. At the same time, he
came to realize the vast number of the rich international cultures present in Aggieland. This led
him to believe that mutual interaction between domestic and international students promoted
awareness to the highest degree as every international student is a window for Aggies to see a
whole new country, culture, and way of life through another Aggies eyes.
With both his parents possessing finance backgrounds, Arjun was introduced to finance at a very
young age. This introduction later evolved into a fascination for finance. This is when Arjun
decided that he definitely wants work in the finance industry. Upon graduation, Arjun hopes to
work as an investment banker in New York and then attend Harvard Business School. Apart for
his affinity towards finance, being challenged with something new every day, working,
competing and learning from the smartest, most hard working and competent people is what
draws him towards investment banking.
This past summer, Arjun interned as a summer analyst with Arth Capital, a private equity
boutique shop in Mumbai, where he gained immense industry insight, acquired various skill sets
and greatly enhanced his finance knowledge. He is currently interning with the Aggie Angels

Network, an Angel Investor Network that provides quality investment opportunities for
accredited investors, and assists high-growth potential companies with fundraising and advisory
services.
Arjun’s eventual goal is the ability to use the limited resources the world has available in the
most efficient manner to contribute most positively to various economies, the world and
mankind. He believes, a successful global business man should have amassed a great amount of
in depth industry knowledge, hands on experience in the functionality of different markets,
viewed life through different perspectives, interacted with a variety of customers/consumers, and
experienced different cultures, to do something extraordinary with his enterprise, to allocate and
invest his assets in various vehicles after thorough risk analysis, and to create wealth and enable
other people to do the same.
