Britain in Bloom Competition The school was once again invited to participate in this annual children’s competition which is organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. The competition theme this year was “Budding Olympians”. Pupils submitted drawings and paintings in response to this theme and once again produced some excellent pieces of work. The prize giving ceremony was held at Keele University and involved pupils from many local primary, secondary and special schools. Our prize winners were: Highly Commended Rebecca Babb Yr 7 Highly Commended Elinor Fox Yr 10 Highly Commended Paige Kelly Yr 10 School Council The School Council consists of 10 democratically elected pupils who play an important part in school life here at STB, in addition with the Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies. Throughout the year they organise many whole school events for example the Harvest Festival. In addition the School Council work hard raising awareness of the plight of others not so fortunate in our local community by co-ordinating the whole school participation in the Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Appeal. The School Council also put forward the pupils’ voice; raising issues with the Senior Management Team that the pupils feel are important.
