The Designers
Michael Ellis actually began his career in 1972 when he designed his first home for a
client. At that time the seed had been planted and he knew designing buildings and
spaces for people is what he wanted to do in life. The project produced the
foundation on which a small but highly innovative design firm would develop and
evolve into Ellis Design Group, LLC.
Since that time, Michael has earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the
University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon and an Associate of Applied Science degree
in Architectural Drafting from Portland Community College, Portland, Oregon. He
has also taught design and architectural history and vernacular courses within
many of the public schools around the southern Willamette Valley area through the
Architects in Schools program of the Lane Arts Council.
Michael's philosophy directly reflects the team's commitment and approach that
strives for honesty, cooperation, and good communications between all involved --
the client, designer, and contractor. This also produces an environment that
inherently fosters trust, greater cost accountability, and a project on time and
within budget.
