teens AVA’s Trilogies, Series, Sequels... Does it seem to you that many of today’s books are a continuation from one last year or even one from several years ago? There appears to be an abundance of them. You think you can just read a book and it is over, end of story….but wait! It isn’t over and there is more! I think Harry Potter started the whole multi-book phase we are in now. I know there were trilogies, series, and sequels pre-Harry Potter; however, they seem to be flooding the market even more now. The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth has been compared to the Hunger Games Trilogy and is the new “one” to be reading. There are already two books, Divergent and Insurgent. The first has already been optioned for a movie. If you are waiting for book three, you will have to wait a little longer…word on the street is that it is due out in fall 2013! Can you wait that long? Get ready for Teen Read Week, October 14-20, 2012! The theme this year is It Came from the Library. To celebrate Teen Read Week, you can participate in Book Bracketology.
